Visited the Coachman for Sunday lunch a couple of years ago and it was superb. This was to be a special dinner for our friends birthday which I mentioned when we arrived. Nothing was said to her not even 'Happy Birthday' which was disappointing. The homemade pie was served as 2 small pies which were tasteless and we felt had been bought in. The rest of the food was good as was the service. The restaurant was very quiet with just one other couple dinning. We were disappointed as we were expecting a special experience as we had had previously.

Having tried the bar lunches some little time ago, I decided to try the Sunday Lunch, which is served in the dining room . White damask table clothes and serviettes set the attractive scene. The menu is not overly long but is more than adequate for purpose. I started with seafood cocktail and progressed to roast beef - both items were beautifully prepared and tasty, being presented in a tasteful manner. My companions were equally pleased with their starters of soup followed by roast lamb. The greeting on arrival was excellent as was the service throughout the meal and will result in return visits. Pricewise, a little on the top side but still reasonable!

The is the second visit to the Coachman called in hoping we could get a Sunday lunch! The young man on reception was very welcoming and found us a table in the restaurant, which is lovely very clean and bright with sparkling white linen and napkins.
The waiting staff are very good, very attentive, water on the tables for you.
Everything about the food is excellent, I had the sea food starter, I could hardly reach the top of the glass it was that full! My husband had soup he said it was gorgeous too, very well presented. The main we both had the Lamb roast which was just like home made, not faults at all. No room left for a sweet. Very reasonable for the quality of food.
We will be back again in September.

We, 4 adults and 2 children, visited for Sunday lunch. We were comfortable in the lounge bar while we selected from a good ranging menu, considering we were after a traditional Sunday lunch. The order was taken in good time. We found a good selection of drinks in the bar, with some pleasant local beers on tap (we didn't have the wine list).
We went through to a beautiful restaurant with impressive table settings including large cloth napkins. The food is superbly presented, generous platefuls and served at a good pace. There was one minor glitch when a plate arrived with gravy which we had asked not to be on the plate, but it was replaced fairly quickly. There seemed to be something to suit everyone in each course. Service was pleasant throughout. I'm fairly sure you could find a cheaper Sunday lunch in the area, but the overall experience here is very good. I recommend it!!
