Once again we were made very welcome on our arrival
Since last year there has been a very modest increase in cost ( £28.00 for B & B £38.00 for D,B & B) - only £ 10.00 for a 5 course dinner ( very welcome in these cost challenging times)
Looking around at dinner & I note the majority from breakfast are also taking advantage of the good value dinner
One downside is that McCarthy's Retirement Homes have purchased the Cricketers Pub demolished & are building a 30 bed retirement complex-there is also a rumour they have bought the Reads Hotel further along the parade with two closed down small hotels between the properties ( ripe for development ???)

The advantage is that the design is in the Victorian Facade to match the existing hotels( which the 60's Cricketers Pub certainly was not-) thereby enhancing the vista-the disadvantage is the reduction in bed spaces in this popular North Bay area

Room Tip: Book a seaview room

We visited the Victoria Seaview for a two night stay, my wife and I and a friend, on April 13 & 14. From our arrival we were greeted and treated like old friends by Sally and Gavin. Our room was reasonably spacious, clean and comfortable with room for two lounge chairs and a coffee table in the bay, along with the flat screen television. Our room, and the single room of our friend, had a sea view across the North Bay to the castle on the headland. One criticism of the room was the shower room which also held the toilet, this was little more than a cupboard, very cramped but acceptable for the two nights we were staying. It would have become tedious had we been staying longer.
Not being familiar with the area we opted to take dinner at the Victoria on both nights. Gavin is the chef and produced excellent meals on both nights with quite a good choice for the five courses, (one being coffee and mints). Breakfast was hearty and very enjoyable. Bed, breakfast and evening meal for £39, excellent. Facilities were good, a comprehensive games room and a comfortable bar lounge. Parking was available on the forecourt, this may be a little inadequate later in the season but there was ample room when we were there. If I had cause to stay in the area again I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Lower floors are advantageous for people with restricted mobility as there is no lift.

Stayed for a short break in December, booked at short notice.
As a previous reviewer says, be careful, the are 2 Victoria Hotels in Scarborough.

We had booked at the Victoria Seaview, but on arriving in Scarborough we drove the the "other" Victoria hotel. To say I felt dismayed the hotel is next to a pub and near the railway station was an understatement - but we then realised we were at the wrong hotel!

We were given a sea-view room, 3 flights up. The stairs are quite steep to if you have trouble walking be sure to ask for a lower floor room.

The room was larger than we had expected. The en-suite bathroom is fairly compact - but you have to remember this is an en-suite and not a full size bathroom. The ensuite and room has all the essentials.

It is about a 20 minute fairly easy walk to the centre. Quite a few eating places and 2 or 3 pubs nearby. The hotel itself also has a bar, snooker table, TV room and Wi.

But if you stay here - take up the evening meal option, you won't be disappointed. All food is home cooked. You place your evening meal order (from a choice of 3 for each course) in the morning at breakfast each day.

Rooms cleaned daily, if you need replacement towels just leave the dirty ones in the shower tray.

Plenty of off road parking spaces.

Wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel have a seaview, those on the front of the hotel look out onto a main road.

there seems to be mixed reviews about victoria hotel in scarborough, thats because there aere two victoria seaview hotels.
the first is outside the train station, this is a very "lively" place, that allows stag and hen nights.
the second is the victoria seaview hotel on queens parade, near the north marine park.

we stopped in queens parade.........and it is an excellent hotel.
we had bed, breakfast and evening meal for £75.
the 3 course evening meal was delicious, breakfast was also very good, and service was excellent at both.
our massive room overlooked the bay and was spotlessly clean. the "double" bed was huge and gave a great nights sleep.
there is free parking, but we travelled by train.
the bar was very cosy and friendly on saturday night, after we had been into scarboro' for a drink.....they even made "the missus" coffee for free........now that is good service.
the hotel is 10-15 walk into the town centre, and just 2 minutes from the cricket ground (btw...durham lost to yorkshire), the only downer on the weekend.

the only downside to this hotel is, the stairs might be a problem for some. our room was on the top floor, but we loved the view.

Room Tip: ask for top floor if you are ok with stairs.

Visited for the 3rd time for a short break and everthing is still excellent. The food is definately a step up from the run of the mill hotel of this type..We only booked a few days before we stayed so obviously we had to have any rooms available and we were on the 4th floor with a seaview, with 4 flights of stairs so beware if you arn't fit !!.Most people there were return visitors which says a lot and we will be back in September again for a few days.highly recommend.
