This was our first stay here – in fact the first stay in any Travelodge – and it was so good we would definitely use Travelodge again. First appearances was that it was in a great position on the sea front. We arrived a bit early but were able to check in. The lobby was clean, bright and modern. The check-in was very quick and the man on reception very friendly and helpful. The room we had was on the ground floor and although it was very open to people passing peering in it wasn’t too bad – but it could definitely do with net curtains on the ground floor. The room itself was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. A real bonus was not having to check out until noon. We paid extra for the breakfast the next morning and it was well worth the money. Not only was there a full Englifh breakfast on offer but also cereals, toast a fridge with Muller yoghurts, fruit, fruit juices, various teas and coffee, croissants and all as much as you wanted – brilliant value for money. A young man named Jordan was one of the staff who was there and he was extremely helpful, friendly and efficient.
The only minus we have about our stay was that we decided to have dinner there in the evening – don’t bother – it was awful! It wasn’t the fault of the cook but purely due to the fact it was pre-packed, processed food and was truly horrible. We had lamb shank with peas and mash and it was only the bit of meat that was edible, the other meal was fish, chips and peas – the fish was the smallest bit ever, totally tasteless, the peas so hard they could be used as ‘ammo’ and the chips totally dry inside – horrible and a total waste of money – do yourself a favour and eat out for an evening meal.
A word of advice is to get there early as the car park fills up very quickly – but you can apparently park on roads around the hotel for free. The car park does not belong to the hotel but is Council run and is expensive – around £3.50 (approx.) for 3 hours but I believe it is free after 6pm.
Apart from that – our stay was great value for money and we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go above the ground floor if you don't want to be 'on view' to everyone passing by!

Doesn't look like a conventional Travelodge outside which is nice. Room (410) was spacious. Lift right next door is handy but you need to get used to it being used and you hearing it being used(!). Heater on when we arrived. Staff helpful. Seagulls could possibly wake you if you're a light sleeper. Also possibly the bin wagons that service the Grand Hotel opposite in the early hours of the morning. No allocated hotel parking. Would recommend the undergound car park nearby at £6 for 24hrs. Overall, would come again though.

Just returned from a two night budget break in Scarborough. Communal areas are clean, bright and modern. As would be expected in a very old building, corridors are narrow and staircases in abundance!
Room was basic but clean and the staff could not do enough to help in any way they could. As regular Premier inn customers we were all too aware of the lack of facilities we usually take for granted such as bath AND shower, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries....... - but for the price we paid, this stay was excellent value for money.
Room had large windows overlooking the sea, two minutes into town and lovely sea front walks right outside.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

We had an excellent start to the New year by staying at this hotel. Wonderful value for money, comfortable, spacious room, friendly staff, beautiful location and coastal views from the room. We will be back soon!
