“Room with a View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

What a great location beside the seaside. Also extremely close to the town's main shopping centre and a short walk from the train station. An old building with bay windows and situated opposite the Grand Hotel. Our room was a family room with a sea view. This Travelodge has a bar serving food as well as drinks. Only complaint would be the squeeky bed but otherwise it was a great two night stay. Excellent value for money. Would definitely return.
.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

Brilliant Location ,I parked in the Wilkinson ncp car park priced at £8 for 24hrs,it was secured after 7.30pm and only a 10 min walk from the travel lodge...Room 132 had a sea view it was large, warm and clean room but every time someone flushed the toilet and had a shower in the room above us it sounded like they were in the same room as us as it was very loud and noisy .The street light straight outside the window turned on and off ALL night which really was a pain as it lit up the whole room, there was a constant droning noise coming from somewhere in the building which could be heard ALL night. But for £15 in the travel lodge sale it was ideal for a overnight stay.

Brilliant location and terrific staff. We had a superb view from our room of the Grand Hotel and the South Bay, and our room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help.

The breakfasts are also recommended as there’s so much to choose from – toast, full English, pastries and muffins, cereals, fruit.

Looking forward to returning, hopefully when the weather isn’t quite as wet!

Room Tip: Room 422 is large and has a fabulous view

Checked in an hour and a half ago, and have spent last 90 mins on mobile trying to find another hotel !
Street view shows this place being fitted out in 2008, so i didn't read any reviews...bad move....
Reception stinks. Hotel like a maze. Room dark and dirty.
After this i will NEVER stay in another travelodge again !!!
Only here as premier inn (where we stayed last night) had no offer rooms and we wanted an extra night. I'll pay the extrs next time.
Only good thing is a sea view,( all be it through a dirty, drafty window!)

This hotel is very basic and in need of urgent refurbishment. The family room was tired, the corridor outside our room smelt awful - like a dirty back alley in a town centre on a Saturday night. What surprised us is that dogs are allowed to stop along with their owners in the hotel - as we found out when the couple came out from the next room with their Staffordshire bull terrier in tow. What's a shame is that the location is good for Scarborough town centre, the front, beach etc. but our best advice is to spend a little bit more and stop at the Premier Travel Inn two minutes away.

Room Tip: Don't book a room

After having a bad hotel experience already this day, we hurried to the travelodge feeling very cold and tired. We asked for a nice warm cosy room. However, the only request they got right was warm. On entering the room we were disgusted to find the toliet had not even been flushed! The walls were filthy along with the whole appearance of the bathroom. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was also a very foul smell in the corridors. Needless to say we will not be returning!

Room was very basic. Not great at all, parts of the wall falling off. There was a needle and cotton in the curtains.

The bathroom was adequate but the toilet seat was loose. My daughter enjoyed herself though so that added a star.

The food was very poor one of the worst breakfasts I have had.
