My partner and I stayed here as part of a 500 mile charity motorcycle ride in pink tutus across a wet weekend to raise money for Cancer Research UK (http://www.justgiving.com/Rich-MooreC2C/). We finally arrived an hour and a half late thanks to adverse weather conditions, but we were met with a warm and dry welcome, offered hot drinks and a place to hang our gear to dry out. Ed, Jan and Julie made us feel like family, the room was immaculate, well-equipped, spacious and tastefully decorated. Our only regret was that our stay was so short! Highly recommended for more than a one-night stop-off.

we arrived at the st michaels guest house in scarbrough,on the 8th of sept 2013,having been married just one day.this was our forth trip to st michaels guest house, this time to spend three nights, while on honeymoon. We knew ed and jan, the owners,st michaels guest house would look after me and my wife gail,we were not let down.Nothing changes the friendly owners, are so welcoming, and nothing is to much trouble for them. The breakfast is so large,it would feed two people, and ed's pork sausages are to die for.One morning at 6 25am,i went outside for a smoke and some fresh air, imagine my surprise when jan appeared with a fresh cup of fillter coffee for me,i was gobsmacked.Nothing is to much trouble for ed and jan, were your a guest at st michaels. The guest house is the best i have ever stayed in by a country mile.On the wens 11th of sept,me and gail, were off to whitby for further three days,we said goodbye to ed and jan, when ed turned to us and said,i will take you to whitby in the car,a round trip of over forty miles, again we were gobsmacked, but thanked ed and jan for there very kind offer, but declined, and went and caught the bus.Thats the wonderfull people ed and jan are at st michaels, nothing is to much trouble for this lovely couple.THANK YOU JAN AND ED,you are simply the best.

Clean rooms, great service. Made to feel completely welcome. Lovely breakfast and more than you could eat. Ed and Jan are the nicest people you could wish to meet. Highly recommended and already booked for next year. Great work by the both of them.

For a lady of a certain age, travelling alone with your rucksack along the Cleveland Way, it is a wonderful feeling, when someone carries your load up the stairs. Especially after you have been welcomed by the same people who really seem to be interested in your stories and dont't care if you look a little 'flushed'.

Ed and Jan, thank you for a lovely stay in st MIchael's

When we arrived we received a very warm welcome and a brew.
Me and my husband had a very relaxing 2 night stay. Hotel was spotless has everything was catered for and more we needed to ask for nothing. Both ed and Jan very friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat and visit. Will definitely be visiting again!

I have just returned from a fantastic few days staying at the St. Michaels in Scarborough. The owners Jan and Ed were friendly and welcoming from our arrival when we were offered a welcome cup of tea. The room was very tastefully decorated and beautifully clean. The room had free wifi access, a TV, DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities. The included breakfasts were delicious with a selection of fresh fruit and cereals followed by a cooked breakfast. Jan and Ed were very helpful throughout our stay, offering friendly advice to help us organise our daily activities. I have never experienced such fantastic, personal service before and it is what really sets this guesthouse apart. The hotel is in a great location near to the beach and Peasholm Park, and only around 10 minutes walk from the town centre of Scarborough. I really can't fault this hotel at all and would happily recommend my friends and family to stay here.
