Fantastic views in all directions, house and gardens immaculately maintained, excellent breakfast, lovely place to just relax in the peace and quiet. Only 3 miles from Scarborough, and we could take our dog with us . Highly recommended.

Unique style building perched on a hill with views that quite simply are magnificent and panoramic and worth the trip alone, however, the views are further complimented by the welcome from the owners, the gardens are extensive and extremely well kept and well worth a wander round. The rooms are perfectly adequate with the usual tea/coffee/biscuit facilities, clean and comfortable, family room was quite spacious, but perhaps the icing on the cake, start your day with a full English breakfast, juices/tea/coffee and toast on a conveyor belt, wonderful start to your day. Any amount of information re places to visit etc available all over the building. Friendly hosts without being "in your face". If you want to relax, chill out, and enjoy great views while eating a great breakfast in good company, it's a no brainer., just book it, we certainly will be going back.

Room Tip: Family room has 3 single beds with ample space and on suite, and views, quiet.

Harmony Country Lodge sits on an elevated position in a idyllic, peaceful, setting on the edge of the North Yorkshire National Park. It commands extensive views of both the sea and countryside; the gardens are spacious and attractive with plenty of seating and an abundance of wildlife. We stayed for seven nights in a spotlessly clean room with countryside views. Tea making was provided, along with daily biscuits and chocolate mints. Fluffy white towels were changed each day. Breakfast was top class, hot and plentiful and served in a pretty dining room overlooking the sea. Sue and Ray were first class hosts, always ready to offer suggestions and happy to discuss your day's experience, the lovely girl who served breakfast couldn't do enough to help. We would recommend Harmony to everyone and will return here on our next visit to Yorkshire. Many thanks all for a lovely stay.

We were looking for somewhere to relax for a few days, within easy reach of the main East Coast holiday resorts - we found it. The first thing that occurred to us was how peaceful the setting is. Spacious gardens, adequate car parking located in a quiet village. The bedroom was a tad small but perfectly adequate (we didn't go there to spend time in the room!) If you want to chill whilst in the lodgings there is a decent sized conservatory overlooking the lawns. The owners are 'great'. can't do enough and always with a sociable word. The place is clean and the breakfast plentiful. Will definitely go again.

My wife, I and 12 year old granddaughter spent 4 nights in a three single bedded room last week. We had previously stayed there a few years ago and it was lovely to return to the peaceful setting. The room was well appointed and the breakfast first class.
There was ample parking, and easy access to Scarborough, Whitby etc.

We have recently returned from a very enjoyable three night stay at the Harmony Country Lodge guest house at Burniston, three miles north of the Yorkshire seaside resort of Scarborough.

Our first impression of Harmony Country Lodge was very favourable indeed. It is a unique octagonal building surrounded by beautiful countryside, and situated within its own extensive grounds, which are very neat, tidy and immaculately well-kept. The guest house itself is situated on a small hill at the end of a fairly long driveway, placing it a good distance away from the public road, and although the road itself is not busy, the location does make the premises very quiet and peaceful. There is also ample room at the top of the driveway, close to the premises, for guests to park their car.

Upon entering Harmony Country Lodge, we were most impressed by how spotlessly clean, tidy and well cared for the entire premises are. It is obvious the owners take great pride in looking after the premises - and rightly so, as it is such a unique and charismatic place. The décor throughout is fresh and clean and there was a lovely feeling of peace and tranquillity… a perfect place to relax, unwind and escape the “rat-race” of everyday life. We were warmly greeted by Tony, the owner, and shown to our room on the first floor.

Our en-suite room, (although not large), was absolutely fine, having everything necessary for a short stay, including tea/coffee making facilities, flat-screen TV, radio/alarm clock, and even a selection of toiletries in the en-suite! The room was nicely decorated, and like the rest of the premises, spotlessly clean and well presented. Its location afforded a very nice view of both the beautiful surrounding countryside, and the sea over in the distance.

Breakfast was served between 8:30 and 9:00am, and consisted of a choice of cereals, prunes, grapefruit, fruit-juice etc., along with tea or coffee. A traditional cooked English breakfast followed, along with warm white and brown toast, butter, marmalade and jam, as preferred.

The cooked breakfast was, in our opinion, very nicely cooked. The scrambled egg was just right… not sloppy and runny, nor was it spongy and rubbery either - perfect! The sausage, bacon, tomato and baked beans were also “spot-on”… not swimming in grease or fat, as is sometimes the norm. All credit to Tony’s cookery skills!

In conclusion, we have no hesitation whatsoever in thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommending Harmony Country Lodge guest house. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, and are very much looking forward to returning at some point in the not too distant future.
