The hosts are so friendly. They were both there to greet us on arrival. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Shame about the gulls... do they ever shut up? Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fab, and the eggs cooked perfectly. We were made to feel very welcome; they even loaned us plastic macs just in case it rained at the open air theatre. we particular enjoyed the late evenings sitting outside in their little courtyard, putting the world to rights. Will definitely go back again... Thank you Eric and Carina.....

Great advice given on the area by Eric where to visit and where to eat and all his recommendations were welcome and also very good.
The Breakfast was very good nice and fresh and great quality fresh fruit, yogurts and plenty of Tea, Coffee and toast if you wanted it.

Spent one night here whilst visiting Scarborough for a concert. From setting foot in the door, we were warmly welcomed and nothing was to much trouble for the hosts Eric and Corena. Eric advised us on parking and equipped us with the necessary parking disc to help us park nearby. We were shown to our room which had recently been refurbished. It was spotlessly clean with lovely bedding, towels and toiletries. The shower was powerful and there was always plenty of hot water. There was a kettle, hairdryer, TV and DVD player with DVDs to borrow if we needed them. Breakfast orders were taken in advance and the breakfast did not disappoint. Beautifully served in a cosy dining room with lovely little touches like nice crockery and offers of extra toast if we wanted it. Good choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and croissants as well as the Full Monty. Ideally situated at the quieter end of Scarborough but within walking distance of the town, Peasholm Park and the promenade? Would not hesitate to return there on our next visit to Scarborough and am pleased to recommend it to others.

Room Tip: The seagulls in Scarborough are very noisy. Nothing the hotel can do about this but take some earplugs. They squawk all night!

I cannot recommend Brontes Guest House highly enough. Eric and Corena are just fantastic. I stayed here for two weeks whilst doing two weeks work experience at the Sealife Centre (20 mins walk). I had the single room and although it wasn't huge it was really clean comfortable and homely (single room has separate but private toilet ). I cannot thank Eric and Corena enough they provided me with a packed lunch each day, directions and recommendations of where to eat as well as inviting me to make use of a variety of DVD box sets and to share a glass of wine with them in the garden on an evening. Most importantly as an 18 year old girl staying on my own they made me feel welcome and safe. This side of Scarborough is so pretty (it was sunny every day) Peasholme Park is just a short walk away as is open air theatre, and the main town and facilities including best chippy in Scarborough at the bottom of the road. This will always be my first choice should I return to Scarborough.

Room Tip: You can book the single and a twin room together (family room)

We stayed at Brontes last weekend, Eric and Korena were very welcoming and to be honest we found all of the good reports below to be true. Room perfect for the two nights we needed it for, shower room met our needs being clean, nice shower, toiletries, etc. Breakfast to order which was nicely cooked and served.
We felt very welcome and relaxed during our stay and will be our first choice of venue when we return to Scarborough.
Thank you both for your hospitality and advice.
