I have just returned from a 5 day coach holiday with Shearings where we stayed here at the Norbreck, one of their own holiday hotels. My bedroom was very comfortable with a superb sea view, looking out over the North Bay. Yes, the bedroom could do with updating, however it was spotlessly clean in every respect and that's what really matters. Housekeeping was carried out to a very high standard every day with plentiful supplies of tea and coffee. If you wanted more, you only had to ask. The television was one of those small portable types but it had an excellent picture, so was perfectly adequate.
The food was on the whole of very good quality. The cooked breakfast was excellent. The evening meals were very enjoyable too. The only slightly disappointing meal was on Wednesday evening and that was the Chef's Special of Chicken Curry and Boiled Rice. I do not like hot curry dishes, i prefer mild curry, but unfortunately, this chicken curry was tasteless. I can't even say it was mild because it was so bland, and the rice was just all sticking together. The meal was edible, but just not up to the very good quality of the other evening meals we were served there. The service received from our waitress was absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she always had a smile. The sea view from the restaurant is absolutely superb if you are lucky enough to have a window sea like i was.
Entertainment was also very good. I watched the cabaret every night and enjoyed every one!
Having 4 free drinks every evening as part of the package was also very good.
The hotel is in a superb position perched high up on the cliff with super views. The staff here make you feel very welcome indeed, and they do their very best to ensure that you enjoy every minute of your holiday. I would not hesitate in returning to stay at the Norbreck Hotel when i come back to Scarborough.
Thank you to everyone at the Norbreck for such a great holiday. Keep up the excellent work!
