We booked this hotel for a one night stay through Late Rooms.com and were able to get a discount. If we'd had to pay the full price I don't think it would have been such good value.
The room (22) was small, but the storage was well set out and there was plenty of space in the bathroom to place toiletries. The bed was small and rather uncomfortable which may have seemed worse on one of the hottest days of the year. With the windows open, we were woken through the night by seagulls who seemed to be nesting on the roof. We were in a second floor room with a sea view which was a nice surprise.
My disabled husband had to use the lift which was painted bright orange and felt rather claustrophobic.
There were pleasant places to sit outside with lovely views of Sidmouth and the sea.
The dining room had lovely views along the coast towards the cliffs. The only vegetarian dish was rather disappointing - spinach and ricotta cannelloni, but hopefully the vegetarian option would have been more interesting on another evening. Victor managed the restaurant with flair and a bit of a twinkle in his eye.
On the whole, a bright, airy, clean hotel with helpful, friendly staff. We would stay here again.
