We stayed for 3 nights at The Groveside, in the single room and the superior single room. Both rooms were tastefully decorated and had every thing you needed. I was especially impressed with the single room as sometimes these can be little more than a large cupboard, but this one was spacious and even had a seating area. Breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice. The guest house is in a good location out of the gate and left takes you to the shops and beach. An added bonus is off street parking. Alan and Lin are lovely people, nothing is too much trouble and we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Sidmouth.

Very efficient when booking online, immediate response to email.
Warm welcome and offer of refreshment.
Excellent breakfast, although we prefer not to order the evening before unless it was for the fish which needs to be prepared.
A ceiling fan would be a lovely addition to the guest bedrooms, it was very warm even with the windows open.
Absolutely spotless throughout and extremely comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the property as it is on a busy road

Well thankyou for such a lovely review and we are pleased you enjoyed your overnight stay. We did have a bit of an unusual heatwave and if we could guarantee this every year we would consider fitting ceiling fans however the purchase of stand alone fans may deal with those one off moments. We managed to buy two but for some strange reason there was a high demand! We hope your journey home was comfortable and hope one day to see you again. Thank you again for taking time out to review the Groveside.

Every time we come to Sidmouth, we stay in this Guest House. Dear Lyn and Alan take us as if her family. Even when I arrived at night, Alan helped me to park my car on thein a lovely car park. Every morning we were waiting for a delicious breakfast of fresh, local produce on our own. Very comfortable and clean room, where every day magically appear fresh and delicious cookies and local milk in the fridge! Very nice to come back to you again. I am grateful to you for the warm welcome home.

We don't often stay in guest houses and weren't too sure what to expect but our week-end experience was faultless. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner when we checked in and were offered a tea/coffee and some home made cake (though don't know if we were lucky or this is the norm). Then shown to our room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There is ample parking on site. Breakfast was ordered the night before and there was plenty of choice and of really good quality. There was also fresh fruit salad. Very nice people who run the guest house and very welcoming. Would definitely stay there again when visiting Sidmouth. Location was on main road into the town but only 10 mins walk.

Thank you very much for your kind review and we appreciate you taking the time to write one for us. I am glad your experience at the Groveside was such a positive one We are lucky in Sidmouth as the standard is high in the majority of the guest houses and most work to a high standard of accommodation and delivery of service. If ever we are full I have no hesitation in recommending others with confidence. Hope you try the 'experience' again and would welcome you all to re-visit us
kind regards

We stayed here for a week and the weather was brilliant.

Lin and Alan were very accommodating and attentive. Breakfasts were delicious and filling and we were constantly topped up with tea and coffee which was extremely welcome. We stayed in what is known as "Henrys Room" at the front of the Guest House. The King size bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean as was the ensuite. There was a mini fridge on the landing with jugs of fresh milk for your use. Parking was excellent at the front and rear of the Guest House. The Town and Beach are only 10 minutes away.............. !

We are so pleased to be coming back in August to see you and can only sing your praises to all. Thanks to you both a most enjoyable stay.
