Welcomed and served by a very friendly young lady. My wifes burger was deemed excellent, served with chips and salad. My sausage/2 eggs and chips was a differnt matter altogether. The sausage was tasteless with no texture, reminded me of cheap B&B breakfasts. The fried eggs were almost indescibeable - they appeared to have been fried and then thrown against the wall ! The yolks were broken and I couldnt dunk my chips (which were the best part of the meal) Not good value for money at nearly £8.

Thank you for your review on Prospect Plaice , I'm glad your wife enjoyed her burger, they are made on the premises , but was disappointed to here about your meal. The staff would of been quite happy for you to of sent your meal back and it would of taken just a few minutes to fry some new eggs to your liking and served replacement food. I agree there is nothing better than dunking chips in eggs ,many apologies

We've had take away several times from PP and eaten in once. The food has always been fine. It's not going to win any awards but then how many michelin starred chip shops do you know of? They do a good range kids food, portions are generous and they do other stuff like burgers etc
My recommendation is to get takeaway and if the weather's fine, go and sit by the groynes on the beach and watch the sun go down.

Stopped off in Sidmouth and wandered the front in search of fish and chips. Prospect Plaice was where we ended up more through luck than judgement. We both had the Haddock and chips which was just what we needed. The food was great and the service was spot on.

I wanted fish and chips at the seaside and as this was a stones throw from the beach I made a beeline to go here. The food was very good, they even stocked local caught fish. I did however think £8.00 for fish and chips was a little steep. Service however was very good.

I ate here with my two young children this evening. It's quite a nice little place, and the service is ok, but the food is surprisingly good. I had a homemade burger (which had finely chopped red onion in it) in a lovely seeded bread roll, and the chips were skin-on and homemade too. Even the side salad had good balsamic vinegar on it! Not cheap, but it wasn't your standard fish and chip restaurant, and worth every penny. And if you get a window seat facing the right way you can see the sea.
