It’s been about 5 years since we have been to this restaurant but it’s still great. The seafood superb and really good choices on the menu.

Both had nice starters and meals. Good food, pleasant staff and a nice restraunt.

We delayed in booking a table and had to eat a little later. Booking is recommended. Although busy we didn't feel squashed in. A nice evening, good food and a beer.

We last visited here in 2015 when we had a great meal. We had the same experience this time.

We went for the early bird offer and made sure we were seated by the time required. Another reviewer mentions the '80s' decor. Can't say I agree with him as Neil's is decorated in fresh comtemporary colours and looks pretty plush to me. Anyway, eating at Neil's is a treat for us (a toss up between there and the Salty Monk), We'll eat at The Swan and The Anchor for a quick meal, and at Neil's when we have something to celebrate. This time eight of us dined there and all agreed the food was tasty with good portions (you can always ask for more veg if required - we really didn't need to as there was plenty). I had the Tiramisu for dessert and it was absolutely delicious.

Nice atmosphere, friendly, efficient staff.

We telephoned on the off chance late on a Friday afternoon for that evening and we were able to offer us a table, but I would imagine that in the height of the season this would not be possible. I can honestly say we were not disappointed. The staff very friendly, helpful, great atmosphere and most important the food was superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and we will certainly be returning next time we are in Sidmouth.

On holiday 15-19 November in Sidmouth we ate twice at Neil's. Both times we each had excellent fresh fish for our main courses- lemon sole and thick cut cod one evening and John Dory and hake on the other. The extensive menu would have allowed us to choose several alternative mains if we had been lucky enough to be able to go on other evenings. The starters are also very attractive as is the dessert menu. The service & atmosphere are excellent and the whole is very good value. I highly recommend Neil's as the place to eat in Sidmouth.
