“First time visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2014

Looking for somewhere to stay on the internet for my week at the Sidmouth Folk Festival I came across The Barn & Pin Cottage. I felt welcome and that they cared about my visit from the emails that went back and forth to make sure their place was the place for me to attend the Sidmouth Folk Festival. Kim & Peter make sure they are there to welcome you, help with luggage, show you to your room and with a welcome cup of tea after a long journey. It is a charming thatched cottage with charming rooms and owners to match. It is a 'home from home' .in every respect with a large sitting room which you can use which with B&B nowadays is not often available.
Accommodation to truly relax in.
Your own parking space so if you wish to leave the car there buses stop nearby so you can visit places without the expense and worry about parking..
Kim & Peter pay attention to everything working for their guests from morning to night keeping everywhere clean & bright inside & out. There is always ' Service with a smile" and with local knowledge if you have not visited the area before..
It would be a must for me if visiting the area again.

Room Tip: My downstairs room was just right for me an elderly lady. I cannot say about other rooms, this bein...

Thank you for your kind review. It was lovely to meet you and we are glad all arrangements went smoothly for you. We are pleased you were happy with Room 5 our downstairs double room
in-between the lounge and the breakfast room. The bus service from the top of our garden is very good and to be able to leave your car in our safe car park and not have to think about parking is a bonus for our guests. If ever you are back down this way, you know where we are and that you will be well looked after. Kind regards Kim and Peter

I stayed here for my wedding and me and my friends had the most lovely time. You could not fault any of the rooms they were spotlessly clean and gorgeous rooms. Peter and Kim were so friendly and looked after us all. Peter was so funny he made me laugh all the time and Kim's garden is beautiful. Would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area. Great place, great people! Thank you so much. We will send some pictures once we get them.

Have just returned from our 3 night stay for the Sidmouth Festival. We have been coming to the Barn and Pinn for over 4 years now and each time it seems to get better.Kim and Peter are the perfect hosts. They think of everything to make our stay just right.
We love the wonderful food (breakfast is a feast) and if you get the chance to sample the dinners in the evenings you will not be disappointed. Peter's meals are so tasty and varied, with plenty of fresh vegetables from their garden and HUGE portions for those that want a hearty meal. The desserts too are Kim's speciality. Yummy......
The rooms are all excellent and vary for individual requirements. For the first time we had a room with a patio. It was roomy, so comfortable, light and, as always, spotlessly clean. It meant that we were able to sit out and enjoy the lovely evenings on the private patio relaxing.Lovely.......
Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our friends asked for honey at breakfast time and the next day honey was on the table. We can not fault anything about our stay.
They both make us feel so welcome from the cup of tea and biscuits on our arrival to the time we leave. Can not thank them enough for making us feel so welcome and 'at home'...

Room Tip: All are excellent rooms. They vary in size and price so just ask Kim which is best for your requirem...

Thank you for your wonderful review, as always it is a real pleasure to see you all, we know the Folk Festival is with us when you arrive. It was good to see you all looking so well and we do our best to pamper you while you are with us. We know you always enjoy Peters cooking and to use our organic home grown veggies with dinner is a bonus. The luxury rooms being next to each other really worked well for you this year, don't forget to book early if you would like them again next time. Take care Kim and Peter x

This was our first visit, but it won't be our last.
Our family of four (plus dog) have just had the most wonderful holiday in Sidmouth, in most part being due to the accommodation and hospitality shown to us at the Barn and Pinn Cottage. Beautiful surroundings, superb (and splotlessly clean) accommodation and excellent hosting by Kim and Pete - an absolute triumph!

Thank you for your review, it was great to meet you and your family, including your lovely chocolate labrador. We are so glad we helped to make your family holiday special for you. With the children growing up you treasure each one they still want to come on with you. It worked very well for you with you and your husband in Room 7 with the dog (our holiday let with its own little lounge area and kitchen) and the children in Room 6 our downstairs twin room with walk in wet room. They are next door but each with your own space. We hope to see you again soon. With kind regards Kim and Peter

We have just returned home after a wonderful 2 night stay at the Barn and Pinn. Peter and Kim were excellent hosts and the accommodation and food were first class. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and comfortable. The gardens are very well kept and pretty. Kim & Peter like attention to detail down to a candle in Mag's mushroom at breakfast as it was a special birthday and tea and biscuits on arrival. We would certainly recommend it to our friends and hope to go back ourselves one day.Thank you for a wonderful time. Maggie is a vegetarian and was catered for with no problems.Thank you for the wonderful huge bowl of fresh fruit salad Peter provided for her. With best wishes from Maggie and Bob.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your 'special birthday' here with us. Did'nt want to embarrass you with singing first thing in the morning (not with my voice anyway) thought the candle was a little more subtle! Glad you both enjoyed your breakfasts and thank you for sharing with us the memories on your birthday calendar, we thought it was great. Please give our regards to your famous daughter the 'Zumba / Bingo' lady on the specsavers advert. She was brilliant! Take care and hope to see you again. Kind regards Kim and Peter

We were looking for somewhere to stay in the Sidmouth area for a few nights, and my wife happened on this on the internet. What a find! Everything we could have wanted, and Kim and Peter were so helpful. A tip for anyone booking - if Peter is cooking dinner on any of the nights you're staying, don't hesitate, go for it. Sorry to say we only managed one dinner during our stay, but it was superb!

Room Tip: Room 8 was great for us, but Kim showed us some of the other rooms before we left, and all the ones...
