Right on the sea front at Sidmouth. Caters for the more mature guest so if you are youngish then look elsewhere. The hotel was spotless and the staff were oh so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were well appointed but you would have to pay more for a sea view although we did have a partial sea view at the side. Good choice on the menu for breakfast and dinner and all needs were catered for. If in that area I would return . A word of warning dont stand too close for the compimentary tea in the afternoon. Could get injured in the rush.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Elizabeth. We were there for the Diamond Jubilee, the hotel put on a champagne cream tea for all the guests which was very nice.

Room was OK plenty of storage space. Two easy chairs looking over the sea. The balcony is great to sit and watch the world go by weather permitting.

Great position for the town and beach.

The Hotel has been awarded a five star food hygiene which is good to know.

I think this is the 4th time we've stayed at the Elizabeth and it never dissapoints. It's in a 1st class location we very friendly helpfull staff. The rooms are very spacious, clean and tidy. Food in the restaurant is excellent. All in all I can't fault the Hotel Elizabeth and I hope we can stay again very soon as it makes a break very worth while if the hotel is nice and take it from me this one is nice.

Room Tip: I would ask for a sea view but it's not essential as all rooms are nice.

We have been coming to the Elizabeth for the last 8 years, many, many times. The welcome is always warm, the rooms comfortable and nicely decorated and most importantly clean. The food is very very good and plenty of it! Certain times of the year you can get 4 nights for the price of 3. A good bargain.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front overlook the sea and are quieter than the side rooms, which sometimes can be a bi...

We never thought we would be the type of couple who would return to the same hotel over and over again - we've now been to this group of hotels, Hotel Elizabeth, the Kingswood and Devoran and Dukes 10 times!
It's obvious why - the staff are always welcoming, polite and helpful, rooms warm and clean and the food varied and beautifully cooked and presented.
Yes the clientele are 'more mature' - so are we now and we like the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. This has become our favourite place for a short, restorative break and we will be going back again and again - maybe twice a year!

Room Tip: Reserve a parking space on booking, can be difficult to park nearby.

I have stayed here several times with my family and found the service excellent, the Staff are very helpful and friendly... can recommend it.
The position on the seafront is second to none, my daughter
remarked as we sat in the lounge "Its like being on a cruise ship".

We booked a 4 night Pre-Christmas break with both sets of parents. 4 nights for <£400 inclusive (DB&B) per couple.

A good price although you do wonder........

Our experience was excellent:

- very friendly staff; very obliging;
- excellent menu and food standards;
- good accommodation;
- morning coffee and afternoon tea provided free - that was a really nice touch;
- an excellent Christmas meal on he last night with some local carol singers coming into the hotel to entertain the guests.

All-in-all a very good experience and, in my view, better than the two star rating held.

If I could suggest any improvement, it would be to have a clock in the bedroom.
