“Sunday Brunch Cooked to Perfection”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Enjoyed a lovely sunday brunch with my friend.

Welcomed in very nicely and were served promptly. Had coffee and scrambled eggs on toast - cooked to perfection.

Excellent atmosphere in a bistro layout and it was very relaxed and a very good meal.

Highly recommended

“Awesome first visit!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Soon as we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and staff were very attentive.
Fillet steak was cooked just as I asked, medium rare.
The crème brûlée was just as beautiful in presentation as it was in taste.
Despite the busy atmosphere the evening was very enjoyable, looking forward to going back soon!!

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Having visited this place with friends and having read some of the reports i was looking forward to an evening of gourmet heaven. Overall the place was great, nice atmosphere, decor, layout etc. but where i was let down badly was with the food and the lack of service. Eating with a group, i had ordered the ribeye steak. What arrived at the table could not be described as meat of any description, medium rare was more blue and it was approx 75 - 80% fat, having teken 5 minutes to get the attention of a staff member, i sent the meal back to the kitchen. To add to the insult, no staff member came to apologise for the poor food and i was not even offered a replacement or another dish. I am still not sure why they were supprised when i refused to pay for the meal afterwards!
I hope that this was an isolated incident, but i shall never return to find out....So long "Tummies"

“Tummies, going downhill ?”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

I've been going to Tummies for several years now. For drinks in the bar, coffees on the sofa area, lunches in the deli and of course dinners in the restaurant. I am not sure if its just me but recently, particularly this year i have seen the quality go down a bit.

The staff are not always as friendly as they used to be, seem distracted. There used to be a lovely lady who always knew what i was going to order as i was so regular. But since she's left, i notice the others seem a bit agitated whilst taking orders.

As many people have commented, the service is slow. Sometimes taking between 30-50minutes between courses! The food, although nice is very limited and they dont update their menus very often. Its also slightly overpriced.

The 3 course set menu is currently £23.50 which i suppose is average at this time of year, but its disappointing to not have much choice, particularly for vegetarians!

A plus side is the live music on Thursday nights, the singers are always excellent.

I think in 2014, Tummies should consider;
- Updating the menus to offer a wider choice of variety for regular customers
- Possibly offer more incentive for regulars, especially for group bookings.
- Encourage their staff to be a bit friendlier!

No comments about the parking, although i notice other people have complained about it. Not much they can do about that. Just park on a side road and walk!

Other than the above, it really is a great place and the interior and ambiance cannot be faulted.

“Breakfast wasn't great”
Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

I took my partner here for a birthday breakfast and it was very average. The disappointing piece was that the bread that was served was from a basic loaf, I would of expected some nice sourdough or proper whole meal not a slice of motherspride. The scrabbled egg was well cooked it was just a shame about the bread. The juice was concentrated, for the money I paid I would of expected fresh.
