Reviewed August 1, 2012

I have stayed in holiday Inn expresses in Shanghai and New York which were very poor so I wasn't expecting much when I arrived but it was brilliant.

The hotel was modern.

The rooms were big.

The bars and restaurant were very good

The place was clean and the position of the hotel T5 was great.

All for 100 pounds per night

An excellent choice for the one night stay before the long flight home. Friendly welcome, clean, modern and comfortable room. Good evening meal available and the breakfast provided ideal prior to leaving for the Airport. Situated on the A4, perfect position for returning a rental car.
Good car parking available currently GBP 7.50 a day. Will use again.

Definitely deserves a solid 4 stars. I stayed here, as most do, for an overnight prior to a flight elsewhere and found it perfectly suited to a comfortable night's stay. The check-in was easy, an hour of wifi was pretty cheap at 2.5 pounds, the bed was comfortable, the room clean and modern with a nice shower cabinet, and there was a free, plentiful breakfast included in the room price. The hotel was easily reached via the Hotel Hoppa. I took it from Terminal 3 (you have to follow signs for the "Central Bus Station." Someone from the tourist service at the airport tried to fool me into taking a car service he'd arrange by telling me the bus no longer operated from T3 and reaching it at the central bus station or one of the other terminals would take a long time on public transit) and to Terminal 5. My only gripe was that my wake-up call was about 15 minutes late, which didn't make much of a difference to me during this particular trip, but could have made a difference. I'd definitely stay here again as a Heathrow choice.

Excellent hotel, good value. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and staff were often replenishing the produce. We stayed here for 2 nights and visited Legoland, which was brilliant.
Somebody had made a comment earlier about the play area having no toys, well we can confirm it had indeed been restocked! (Though there were no trains on the train track).

The Holiday Inn Express is an inexpensive alternative to the on-airport chain hotels. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff are friendly. Best of all it is quite. Given that we had a 4:30 start this was very important to us. We woke reasonably refreshed and were at the airport for our "meet and greet" car parking at 5:15. No hassle! One thing to bear in mind though, you do need to add on car parking at the hotel - currently £7.50.

Thank you for your recent stay and the review on Tripadvisor.

As you mention, the hotel is an ideal base for pre (and post) flight stays for flights out of Heathrow airport. The hotel is also used by regular guests as a stopover for connnecting flights out of Heathrow airport and Gatwick airport. The bedroom windows are double glazed and some are triple glazed to ensure there is no outside noise in the rooms - as you have again rightly highlighted.

We thank you for your candid comments and look forward to welcoming you back at the airport soon.

Spent four nights here as part of a trip to the UK. Learn to use the public bus system as its much cheaper than the Hoppa Bus or the 77.
Beds were a bit on the smallish size, compared to what Im used to(two single beds in our room).
During our stay we had an issue with the bath room shower door, I was honestly surprised to see someone from the maintenance staff stop in and take a look so quickly.

This hotel has what you need for a one-night stop before you leave. If you have early morning flights in Heathrow, you might want to check in this inexpensive hotel instead of rushing in the morning to get from center London to airport. It's a typical hotel. Staff friendly (check-in speed very fast).

Hotel has vending machine with sim cards (yeah!! if you are arriving and need it). Across the street is a Mark & Spencer convenience store, which has a pretty good selection of fruits and drinks. Nothing else around, but I doubt you stay here for sight seeing. The rooms are small (for a family of 4), but again, one last night in UK, not being picky here.

Breakfast starts at 6:30 (7 on weekends), so early flight folks will miss it.

Only one caveat to remember for the wary traveler - you can buy HOPPA bus tickets right in the lobby, and the HOPPA bus picks you up and drops you off at Terminal 5 at Heathrow. For U.S. travelers, however, many of you are at Terminal 4 (Delta airline for example), so you need to leave just 15/30 minutes earlier than planned - you will wait at Terminal 5 for another HOPPA bus which then takes you to T4. T5 and T4 are far apart if you are thinking about walking or something.

Quick note: For children sleeping on sofa beds, the bed is not very comfortable. Very springy - meaning, you can actually feel the spring on your back. We had to double over the comforter to cushion it.

Can't beat the price. If you have a choice to stay in London one last time at 3x to 4x the cost (average) when you can come here for one last night and have a more restful short ride to airport, why not?
