This is my third visit to this pub and so still my favorite in the area. Love the antique feel to the place... Good selection of beer and the food is not too shabby either. Oh.. A shout to the friendly driver who always picks me up from the Hilton T5. Complimentary shuttle rocks. Hope to be there soon .

Thank mrneeves

We stopped here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon after a wonderful walk. This pub is a real pub, a traditional beer lover’s paradise with good honest food.
They welcome walkers, if you do not have muddy boots, but you can leave your wellies at the door.
They were very welcoming and the food was good, we tried a corned beef slice with vegetables, roast beef sandwich, and a spinach and salmon filo slice. All very good.
I can definitely recommend this as a good place to eat and drink (if you are not driving)

We arrived rather wet and bedraggled but were welcomed warmly by the staff and the charming traditional interior. Huge range of interesting food to suit all tastes and appetites - and at very reasonable prices. Great range of real ales and ciders as well. Food arrived fairly soon and was nicely presented, piping hot where it should have been, enough of it - and really delicious. Delightful rural setting.

I travel a lot for my job and one of my small compensations in being away from home and my family is to visit a good local pub.
This is a special and unusual place. They serve food at lunchtime but strictly drinks and snacks in the evening. I have visited 20 times over the last 2 years and enjoyed a wide variety of beers. These are well kept and served in a traditional way.
I wish that this were my local.

Not a resteraunt exactly, more a traditional beer lover’s paradise with honest grub is what this pub is.
8 real ales served straight from the barrel and ever changing, also 3 real ciders/perry and 1 Belgian/German/occasional American ale. Plus Guinness and Thatcher’s Gold. For the heathens there is Carlsberg or Stella.
Bottles include a good selection of Belgian beers and when it gets colder, bottle conditioned ale, Westerns range of cider.
That's the drinks, as for food I would say good wholesome English. Both hot and cold are good value, especially around the area. The menu changes daily and is sourced locally.
Each bar has a real fire in the colder months; the garden is impressive, especially in summer and is obviously well tended.
The staff are generally knowledgeable and helpful.
Can get very busy in summer and weekends so booking a table for food is advised. It is worth noting that children are not permitted in the bar areas, though there is a large fully covered and headed canopy.
All in all I highly recommend a trip here.
Previous reviews mention the picture being wrong – this is incorrect – the picture is on the White Horse in Hedgerley – presume it has been updated by someone.
