“Daughters wedding”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

My daughter got married in august and the reception was in WGC. Had to travel from Great Yarmouth and decided to stay for a couple of nights and catch up with some old friends while we were there. ( was born in Welwyn ). Have stayed at this hotel before and found everything as you would expect from a premier inn. The service was excellent and the rooms where clean and comfortable and very quiet. The room overlooked Gosling sports stadium where I spent my sports days at school and played football many moons ago, bought back some happy memories. I digress, the hotel is attached to the pub called The Stanborough. You do not have to go out of the hotel to get to the bar as you can get to it through the dinning room. Saves getting wet if it is raining. The pub is pleasant and serves a good selection of beers and lagers as well as bottled beers. The restaurant is clean and serves good meals as well as an all you can eat breakfast for about £8-00 and kids ate free if eating with paying adults which put a smile on my friends face as he was with his 2 girls. He tells me that the family room was of a good standard. As for position of the hotel, the A1 is 2 mins down the road just past the boating lakes. The town centre is 10 mins walk with the station in the shopping centre. Handy for London Kings x. Had a lovely wedding and this hotel just capped it off nicely. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this place to all our readers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the sports field, better than overlooking the car park.

Late booking for myself, partner and toddler daughter enroute to Kent to visit family for few days. Booked night before over phone before we set off from 2nd leg of our trip from York. Service very good and receptionist very helpful when we asked for directions into WGC centre. £78 for night for a family room, felt it was a bit steep but probably our fault for not booking earlier?! 15minute walk into centre, WGC is a great wee place, my partner compared it to an American town. Loved the gardens, space, fountain, shops. Ate dinner in restaurant attached to hotel, good value, good food, excellent waitress in Rebecca! Able to unwind before the long walk to room, seem to go on for an age! Walked off pudding!

Room Tip: We were in a family room - 133, be warned, it is a long trek from car park and reception, so if you...

We had a superb 2 night Bank Holiday weekend break at the Premier Inn. I had requested an accessable room for my Mum who has mobility problems and we were able to have an intercommunicating room next door. The adjoining door meant we could help her when necessary but we could all have privacy too. This gave me peace of mind and meant we all had a lovely weekend. The staff were kind, caring and helpful and the Beefeater restaurant next door was great too. Good food, wonderful staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended to families, seniors and couples. We'll be going there again!

I went to this hotel for an overnight stay and to sleep prior to a nerve wrecking interview the very next day. The staff were very swift to get me into the room, the internet charge was just £3 for 24 hours ...only free for first 30 minutes. I slept like a log - the quietness in the room was astounding and so relaxing. The breakfast was fab - I pre-ordered and the lady in the breakfast room was very welcoming, she looked after my every whim.. even trying to get some cinnamon for my porridge. I was very impressed :)

Room Tip: Get the breakfast when you get there rather than pre-ordering as there are lots of rates and it can...

The rooms were as you expect from Premier Inn, clean and comfortable. The staff were really helpful with advice and maps for getting around the city and everyone in the restaurant at breakfast were kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend for families wanting an affordable visit to the capital. We will definitely be back!

Everything you expect from a well run Premier inn. Clean, excellent service, friendly staff, food in adjacent restaurant good. Specially like the text to book dinner facility which secures a place on the busiest nights. Also, the bath towels are good large size. We always try to choose premier inns as we know we can rely on the quality and value for money

Stayed here for just the one night. Excellent evening meal and a reasonably priced bar. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Great for the price. To be honest I've not stayed in a bad premier inn yet!
