“Comfortable stay and good value family room”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Had a 2 night stay recently to attend a wedding and the family room for 2 adults and 2 children was clean and comfortable. Despite the warm weather a free standing fan was provided in the room which was a welcome gesture. Very friendly staff and the breakfast at the adjoining Beefeater Restaurant was very good with a wide selection of food. Great value for money, especially if you book well in advance as it only cost us £85 for the whole weekend for a family of four.

We'd been to the Warner studios Harry Potter thing and this hotel is about a 20 minute drive away so very convenient.
Was pretty much everything have come to expect from this chain; spacious clean rooms, good service and decent food.
Unfortunately, we couldn't eat in the attached Beefeater on the Saturday night as we arrived around 19:15 and it was packed (next available table for 7 was at 21:45 - no good with young kids) but the receptionist in the hotel was fab - she got a list of local restaurants and gave us tel no's, locations and recommendations.
One minor downside was the noise from the adjoining complex where there was a wedding going on - only because it was so warm we had to have the windows open so could hear the disco, or rather the wife could - I had no problems sleeping !
We'd pre-booked breakfast the next day which was really good (but a bit cramped in the self- service area) and had a good selection - my kids love staying in these places for the breakfasts alone.
Basically, if we go back to that area again, would have no hesitation in staying there again.

friendly, thoughtful & flexible service - good value stay, staff showed a genuine interest in my needs & how they could help. I agree about overheated rooms described by other reviewers, although on arrival there was a large fan working which helped a lot but which was noisy so I had to turn off to sleep. Overall I enjoyed my stay & was pleased with the service & location.

The room is very simple. I have to ask a staff to fix the sink so that water can go. The water pressure for the shower is weak. There is no air conditioning. However, despite all this, it's good value for money. The breakfast cost extra but the quality is good.

I stayed here with a group of friends the room was very large which was a surprise because for the price we paid we were not expecting such a nice place to stay. We booked well in advance which meant it was extremely cheep which was an added bonus. The room was very clean and there was more than enough bedding for everyone which can be a problem in hotel chains such as this one. I would happily stay here again

Stayed here to meet a family member in the town on a course. Met by friendly staff who explained the various dining options provided by the hotel. On going to the room I was pleased to see a pedestal fan had been installed due to the hot weather. As the hotel is adjacent to the East Coast main line it was a much better option than leaving the window open. I even failed to wake for he mother and father of all thunderstorms!.
The room has tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel is about a mile from the railway station but buses are available from the adjacent bus station.
All of the staff that I met were of the same friendly disposition as the chap we met on arrival.

The staff were mostly helpful only one member let them down, They explained the goodnight sleep policy and made sure we ok with where our room was.
The bed was as good as the adverts say,big and comfy with a choice of firm or soft pillows. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel, the only down side was no air con and the weather was very hot which made the room stuffy. it was quiet and we heard no noise from other guests.
