Best Western Welwyn Garden City Homestead Court Hotel
Reviewed November 16, 2012

The rooms were of ample size, and really clean. The beds were comfortable and bedding was immaculate. Tea/coffee making facilities were tops up daily and you were given more if you asked for it. great location for shopping, buses, and trains. Easy to travel to central London. very good restuarant with good food, although some items on the menu were overpriced in my opinion.

I stayed in an exec double.
The decor is pretty dated in the lobby and hallways etc, but the rooms themselves are quite nice. Batroom was very clean and nicely laid out. Not a fan of having big soap dispencers that other people have used though. Would prefer the little sample size ones.
Lift doesnt go to the top floor, and is really small and painfully slow. But thats it for the negatives.
The staff were very friendly and accomodating, and teh restaurant menu was really impressive actually. the food is pretty good.

I was there for 3 days, stayed in 208 with a friend, for 2 days, upon entering the room it was freezing, no heating had been turned on although they knew it was an arrival, house keeping did not remove dirty glasses from the room nor did they clean the cups in the room, the dirty towels was still left in the bath, the man on reception i must say was brilliant, he definatly had great customer service skills, when my husband arrived on the 3rd night we were given a room in the executive block, this was a building adjacent to the main house, although the room was modern in design it had paper thin walls and you could hear everything that was going off in other rooms, so did not get a good nights sleep at all.

Room Tip: Did not use the fitness centre or swimming pool so can not comment - Always ask to be in main house...

Hotel is in middle of residential housing so can be a bit difficult to find but easy parking when you do.Decor is worn with swirly pattern carpet and the lounge is themed 1966 do to a couple of teams staying there for the world cup, probably still the same carpet from that time!! Rooms are only ok and nothing special. There was a wedding on whilst I was there and it was very noisy till gone 3 in the morning.Could do with an update and decoration as it is kicked about a bit and seems very popular with workmen who like the cheap prices

Room Tip: I dont believe that you will find a quiet room in this hotel

we just held our wedding at this venue. it was amazing. The staff where so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and how they set up the rooms were stunning. we couldnt have asked for a better day. The hotel gardens are gorgeous specially for wedding pictures and for just sitting outside relaxing. we would recommend to anyone who wants to hold a celebration at the venue or even for just a night away.

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms are the best

We booked this hotel for three nights as a base to attend the Herts Jazz Festival. The building is contemporary with Welwyn Garden City architecture. The deal was extemely reasonable. We were upgraded to one of the new rooms on the top floor. It was lovely, plenty of room, nice furniture and very good bathroom. Only downside was no heated towel rail, but that's a very minor quibble. Breakfast was a helpyourself buffet, but everything was fresh and they had probably the best croissants I've ever had in Britain. Will stay again for next year's festival.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the 4th floor, but all are going to be upgraded soon.

We have just held our wedding at the venue. I can not thank the staff enough for all there help leading up to And including the day. I am a very controlling person and having to hand the work over to someone else was hard but seeing the venue all decorated to how I imagine it was unreal. The atmosphere was relaxed and managed to change things at the last minute menu wise. Would recommend to anyone wanting to hold a celebration at the venue.
