The Lodge has been built some years ago, next to the old Bulls Head Pub. The rooms are Standard "what you would expect". Comfortable bed, good sleeping quality, quiet, everything works, friendly welcome. A bit of a refurbish would not go amiss but it is still ok. The pub next door has the nice old pub atmosphere. The kitchen is open until 21:30h and I arrived dying of hunger at a quarter to nine in the evening after a very strenuous drive in bad weather. Great, friendly service, excellent pub food and reasonable prices. After my main course, it was already past kitchen closing time, I wanted a warm dessert and got it too without any problem. I was very satisfied with the whole experience and would recommend the Bulls Head for rooms and for food.

Room Tip: View of the bowling green is nice and of course quiet

Having booked into the Bulls Head (A group of six) for an overnight stay prior to flying from Manchester Airport we all had a fantastic customer service experience.
We were met by a man called Dennis who could not have been more helpful.
After we had been shown to our rooms by Dennis, We all ate in the adjacent pub and were very happy with the quality of the food served up. An extensive range of beers were available in the pub.. and were sampled.
After a great nights sleep we were all treat to a hearty full English breakfast.
Dennis even telephoned a local Taxi firm to take us to the airport.

Room Tip: Speak to the owner Dennis.

I spent one night at The Bulls Head & Lodge, on my way to a funeral.
On the positive side:
- Friendly staff
- Large room & bathroom
- All the facilities you need (tea & coffee, trouser press, free WiFi, etc.)
- Pub next door for dinner and breakfast
- No noise - had a good sleep!
- Good price - real value for money

Room for improvement
- Room & bathroom are a bit dated and tired
- Stale smell of cigarette in non-smoking room (cured by leaving windows wide open for 30 mins)

I have stayed here a few times so have no hesitation in returning. The Rooms are in a Lodge type building adjacent to the old Pub. It has a really nice Garden to the rear which is nice on a Summers evening. The Food in the Pub is good and the Breakfasts are great. Staff are friendly. The Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Albeit, they are getting a little dated, they are clean and well maintained. Wifi signal is good and reception is efficient. Its a handy Hotel to Manchester Airport. I'm sick of the Premier Inn/Travelodge/Holiday Inn corporate thing and the Bulls Head is the type of accommodation that beats all the rest hands down! Well done.

Stayed here for one night, while waiting for a flight from Manchester airport for which it is well suited. The room was comfy and well appointed with views of the local crown bowling green. The rooms are in the annex to the pub where meals are available. The evening menu was fairly comprehensive and reasonably priced. In contrast the buffet breakfast was disappointing, bacon and sausages ok, but the eggs very overcooked.Close by is a small cafe offering breakfasts which would appear to give better value.
The pub had a number of local real ales by Robinsons which were well kept.
