We arrived first thing and enjoyed seeing the deer, went on an informative tour of the house and strolled through the beautiful winter garden. We actually ran out of time to return to see the house on our own. A busy and fun family day out.

We arrived in the morning and got ourselves onto the guided tour at 12.15, the guide was well versed in the various rooms and it was more enjoyable than reading the notes. It was an enjoyable visit which took in some of the gardens and the whole house. It is really little different from many other NT houses but still worth a visit for the particular history of the place. The restaurant is also good, if pricey for its type, but the food was tasty and hot. Altogether a good day out without any strenuous walks or climbs and pleasant helpful volunteers in abundance.

I live just a mile away from Dunham Massey and it's become a favourite haunt of mine. It's lovely for a walk, to bird watch, visiting the house (the kitchens especially are fascinating), and now they have the wonderful winter garden which is a haven of delight. This garden has been so thoughtfully planned that every view provides a feast of texture and colour. The rose garden, due to open soon, promises to be lovely and the vegetable patches are fascinating. The main park has a lovely variety of trees, and is just so relaxing to stroll around. My only compalint is the car park extension. The park is now so crowded at the weekend that it detracts from a pleasure of a countryside walk. The shop is good with a wide variety of gifts. I haven't eaten in the restaurant for ages; I imagine it is very busy at weekends and although the food is good, it's also expensive.

We visited here on a damp autumn day and there really wasn't much to see. The parkland is extensive and we enjoyed watching the wildlife
