“Ridiculous quantities, but good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

We had a starter and main course, and the starter alone would have been a good meal in itself. So you need to go hungry! Tasty food - you can get British curry, but also something a bit more authentic. They kindly cooked my (Bengali) mum some Bengali fish off the menu - so sweet of them. I love the saag paneer - it's like home cooked food.

“Slow service but great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

The menu has a wider choice of dishes than your average Indian restaurant. We were impressed with everything we ordered: it was all very tasty and copious (although the korma was more coconutty than we're used to). It was painful to leave food on the plates at the end, but the menu was too tempting! And given the variety of flavours we had, I can't say I regret ordering so much.

Service was rather slow, but friendly and otherwise decent.

“Food not up to normal standards!!!!! Highly disapointed......”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

Went in on a saturday night having not booked we waited happily for ten minutes for a table.

Starters were very good, had nearly an hours wait for mains, mains were very disapointing, and were 2 dishes were warm/cold like they'd been standing for a while.

Wont be returning !!

“Fantastic food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

Called in here well after 11pm on a Saturday night wondering if we'd manage to grab something to eat so late. Met by friendly welcoming staff who were happy to serve us. The food was fantastic. Will definitely return when next in the area and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

“Still our favourite local Indian!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

Returned to the Double Tree on a very cold, wintery Saturday evening in search of some warming, hearty curry. From the poppadoms & very tasty accompaniments to the mixed starter (including samosas, bhaji, chicken & lamb tikka with garlic mushrooms) all the way through to the Lamb sizzler & Chicken curry dishes with mushroom rice, we were very satisfied & importantly, warmed through. All washed down with Bangladeshi & Indian beers, the service was efficient & welcoming & the bill on average with comparative restaurants. No doubt we will return in the not too distant future.
