“Too hot and noisy, great food!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

My husband and I stayed here on 28thJuky for one night. It's very close to the station, about 10 min walk and close to shops etc in Altrincham.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly but it was unbearably hot. It wasn't as warm outside (it's Manchester!) there is no air con, just a silly little fan.

Our room 221 was unfortunately at the front so the traffic noise was relentless, all night long, then at 8am they empty the bottles into the recycling bin, lovely alarm call.

It's clean and friendly, breakfast was good, although I wish they'd wear gloves when handling the bread.

I'm still waiting for a reply from Premier in 2weeks after I sent it, I've chased it up twice (shame on you!) and today was told they are very busy and I should phone for an update. Great customer service!

Anyway it's not bad here just hot and noisy, if that doesn't bother you then go for it. The staff are nice at least and the breakfast is lovely.

Room Tip: Try to go to the back if there are rooms there, at least it will be quieter, hopefully!

Stayed here to watch the Olympic football at Old Trafford. Great location for getting the tram (12 minutes walk), and the hotel let us leave the car free of charge in the car park all the next day. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and compact and no aircon, but we were at the back so left the window open as it was very quiet. Breakfast, continental, wasn't great, but for £5 it's not bad. The pub under the hotel was very pleasant to be in, not bad for a Friday night! I'd stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want a quiet room.

Have stayed here many times and its a great location with really nice staff.
Parking is free, its a short walk form town if you do want to go out for dinner, but the pub that is attached has a lovely atmosphere with really nice and friendly staff. The food is okay, typical pub chain food.

yes the rooms are a little warm, but this is a old building which the Premier Inn do need to spend some money on updating, i am sure this is going to happen.

Stayed for 2 nights visiting local National Trust properties. Not stayed at Premier Inn for a while but at £29 per night thought we couldn't really go wrong. First impressions from the outside are a bit grim - we tried to get in the car park through the emergency exit - but once inside we concur completely with what other positive reviewers have said. The welcome was warm and the staff helpful. Our room was away from the main road overlooking the car park and some elegant Georgian Houses and we slept very well with no traffic disturbance. Electric fans had been provided in case we were hot and didn't want to open the windows. We ate breakfast and 2 dinners in the adjacent pub which we found to be good quality and very reasonably priced. The room was spotlessly clean so all in all a big thumbs up from us. And, hey, at £29 fabulous value.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the car park have quite a nice outlook and probably quieter than on the road side

Stayed here while going to see the Stone Roses at Heaton Park.

Room is basic, small bathroom and bed isn't great - it felt like a hard trampoline. Had breakfast on the second night - get the chef to cook you porridge and eggs if you want fresh stuff. Food was good.
Staff were friendly.

We stayed three nights in the family room ( I'm actually Am still in it as writing this ) and myself and my husband were massively impressed. The room a family one was much bigger than any of the other premier inns we have stayed in and that's a fair few ! Yes there was two windows and yes you could hear the main road but nowhere near the amount of noise I expected after reading the unjustified comments on here . The website warned when booking that there may be noise so we knew. It certainly didn't keep us awake . The extra space made our stay so much more pleasant . The room clean and comfortable and beds even the put up bed sooo comfy !! The shower lovely and the bar downstairs great value and good food . What makes this hotel super though is the fantastic staff . They were amazing , always friendly on reception and the cleaning staff who I haven't actually seen brilliant . We returned to our room and beds were made with my daughters teddy bears layed out on her bed , it looked lovely and the little bit of extra time that had taken made her day . Thank you to the whole team . They deserve a massive pat on the back . This hotel is deceiving it doesn't look much on the outside but is the best I have stayed in . I can't find any faults. Anybody who does must be seriously looking for them ! We have already booked to return , two rooms this time as am bringing the in laws along.
