We didn't know the area at all and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A very comfortable room. Great restaurant with a superb choice of food and reasonably priced. If we come to Manchester again, we would definitely stay here again.

Very nice room, lots of character including a beam, which despite both my wife and I reading the "mind your head sign" we both managed to bang our heads on it!!
Bar- well stocked and reasonably priced.
Food in the restaurant very nice and when taking up the meal deal offer, very good value.
We'll be back.

We spent a night here whilst my wife was on a training course nearby. First off there was an order hiccup - we booked a family room but although a cot was provided the second bed wasn't made up and we only had enough towels for two people. That was all quickly rectified. More annoyingly once the children had gone to bed I tried turning on the bedside lamp and it didn't work, thinking it was the bulb I took a look, and the whole bulb had been broken in two and the fitting damaged. Given that the children were now asleep we didn't report this until the morning.

The hotel was originally a coaching inn, and has been subsequently extended. If you're looking for period features in the old part, like many Premier Inn's these have been largely removed in the rooms in favour of the corporate style, although the staircase to the second floor is original looking, and the restaurant and pub area downstairs is cosy. The original building does have it's pros and cons. Our family room was in the old part and was absolutely vast. Having been in a purpose built Premier Inn Family Room where with the cot in place there is very little room at all, this was superb - bigger than my first flat!

However the big room comes at a price in that the hotel sits right next to the road. Much effort has been made to minimise noise, with double glazing in the windows, but with cars passing close by you do hear the traffic, and feel the vibrations when bigger vehicles pass. It's not a massively busy road, but if you're not used to the traffic it may be a problem. It may also be an issue come summer as there is no air conditioning that I could see. If at all possible I'd suggest trying to get a room in the new block at the back which faces onto a quiet residential street.

The car park is also pretty tight in places, and is small compared to some of the other Premier Inn's especially if, as there was when we were there, you have a couple of people in transit vans in that are too big for the spaces. As other reviews have noted the car park is pay and display, but hotel guest get a pass from reception for free.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the new part of the hotel - the old building is right next to the main Manchest...

Clean room and bathroom. Only con is it's 10 mins walk from Altrincham station. Not really accessible with luggages. However a cab costing only about 4pounds is readily available outside the station.

I would like to say how impressed we were with our stay with had to be made due to an emergency crisis. Tracy on reception was an absolute star to be on hand to help, support and made our short stay an enjoyable experience.

Shame the room was accessed by stairs, but overall the room was tidy and clean!

Room Tip: One that can be accessed easily
