We had booked into this B&B and wanted to bring our daughter's 5 yr old Beagle along on our road trip from Edinburgh. We called ahead and asked Catherine who said no problem at all. On arrival we found a lovely converted school house with very confortable rooms, a great breakfast and friendly Scottish hospitality. The beds were very comfortable and the house was lovely, clean and light.

Would defintley recommend this to anyone and look forward to visiting there again.,

Satying at the School house was a great way to spend the second night in Scotland. Large room with comfotable bed. Cathy and Alan were extremily friendly and welcoming during our stay. The food was great. When traveling through Ballater this is a mustplace to stay.

Stayed for 3 nights & was made most welcome in this lovely B&B. Ballater is in an idyllic location & it was a shame I was there as part of a business trip as I would have liked to have seen more of it. My twin room had a wonderful view of the mountains. Free wi-fi meant I could work in the evenings and still gaze at the scenery! Would strongly recommend as nothing was too much trouble from my very friendly hosts.

The School House Hostel, B&B and center of learning was a wonderful first experience into hostel accommodations. Alan and Cathy Low our host went out of the way to make our stay superb, they even offered to take us for an even hike up one of the nearby hills. Located in Ballater Scotland a lovely village on the southern fringe of the Cairngorm Mountains this was our kick off to and incredible vacation to Scotland, if our travels bring us back this way will stay here for sure.

Room Tip: School House also offers B&B accommodations too

We stayed here at short notice after the hotel we'd booked turned out to be a disaster. They were very accommodating, friendly and made us feel exceptionally welcome. The room was lovely, the bed very comfy, the breakfast delicious (even if the toast was a little on the cold side) and the whole place felt vey homely. It is one of the best B and Bs we've stayed in and we hope to return in the future.

This was our second time staying here and have already booked again for next year. Spotless with lovely fresh linen. Delicious breakfast and nothing is a problem. The hosts make you feel very welcome and are so accommodating. Great location 2 minutes from golf club and centre of Ballater. Would highly recommend.

We stayed there for one night travelling from Stonehaven and on our way to Inverness.

The place is fully renovated and very comfortable
We had a family room for 5 (2bunk beds, 1 king size and 1 single) in the added part of the building (white on the picture). Private car park at the back all the way to the room exit door.

Excellent welcome and delicious breakfast. We have not tasted the cooked one but the continental came with fresh fruits (strawberries and blueberries).

Free WiFi not available in the room but in a very cosy dining room.

Walking distance from the B&B, you find a food store and a nice family restaurant (The station)
