It is not often you get great food and a truly co-ordinated and professional front of house team looking after your every need but it happened here. The quality and presentation of the food was perfectly matched ensuring a very enjoyable evening meal. The wine list was excellent and the food very good value, looking forward to our next visit and it is now at the top of our list.

The food could have come from Masterchef! Flavoursome, well balanced, well presented and faultless service.

My wife & I booked a table here on recommendation and we're very glad we did! The restaurant is attached to the hotel and is open to non-patrons. The surroundings were wonderful, we had our order taken in the bar which was very cozy, with lots of comfortable armchairs with a log fire burning. The dining area was in the conservatory overlooking the back garden.

As for the food, wellI we both thought it was was very very tasty! There was a good choice (not huge, but certainly ample) of very tasty dishes to suit every tastebud. I have a sweet tooth, so took a great interest in the deserts and am so glad I did!! The cranachan and marmalade sponge desert are wonderful!!

Three courses for two plus a bottle of prosecco came to £83. Might be expensive for some, but one good meal is better than two average meals!!

I'm writing about the restaurant in the Deeside Hotel. It was recommended by our Inkeeper just down the street. The lobby and sitting room were pleasantly old world with just enough formality to add a nice atmosphere to the place. We had drinks, ordered off the menu, and then were seated in the dining room when the meal was ready. The meal was excellent; well seasoned and prepared. The bill at the end of dinner was a bit of a surprise. Everything in Ballater is expensive due to the proximity and draw of Balmoral, but this was certainly more than expected. Good place, but at a cost.
