“Biggest and best Cappucino”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

A lovely little cafe on main street of Ballater. Home made cakes were wonderful. Americano Coffee lovely and STRONG, but the best cappucino ever with a cup almost big enough to swim in.
Pleasant atmosphere, mostly locals and cheerful friendly service.
Comfortable seating and tables.
Outside tables for fresh air fiends (and smokers)
Will certainly recommend and visit again.

“Service with a smile”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Great to see a cafe catering for its customers. Took the family over last week and had good food, excellent service. Talking to the owner the range of products produced on site, including gluten free is increasing and the home made soups are excellent. We left with the recipe for the carrot, cocunut and lime soup that we had.
The kids portion was just right and they are even asking when they can go back for some more chocolate treats.
We sat out in the courtyard and the kids thought it great fun
Keep up the good food and service and will be back soon

“Warm and cozy”

The place is as I remembered and the chocolat mudcake with hot chocolat is still the same. Also the cute things they sell and that makes it cozy.

“Great cyclists refuelling cafe”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

After cycling over the lecht from Aviemore the Brown Sugar cafe was a little haven. Great soup, pannini and date slice. The staff even asked if I wanted my cycle bottle filled. Gave me weather forecast and wished me well heading to Pitlochry. Some other cyclists appeared and everyone was given the same friendly service. Well done to all the staff and great to see a service with a smile
Will be back with family.
