Thank you Gordon & Jennifer for your great hospitality once again, as usual you made our stay such a pleasure. If you require any information on what's going on around Ballater just ask Gordon, with his wealth of information he will point you in the right direction. Their full Scottish breakfast cooked to perfection will start your day off superbly. So if your heading to Ballater then don't hesitate to book in to the Netherlea, you won't regret it

Looking around Ballater for accom, the Netherley's bright blue and white frontage stood out as a welcoming sight. We were not disappointed by the warmth of the greeting either - Very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotless, rooms well furnished, well-equipped and comfortable and a breakfast fit for a king. In the centre of this pleasant highland town but room was quiet. Excellent value for money and would certainly stay again when in that beautiful part of Scotland.

When we arrived, the welcome was not very warm. The host asked for our voucher, told us to write our name in the guestbook, gave the room keys and she was gone. No bother showing us the rooms or have a chat. First impressions are crucial, right?
Rooms and breakfast were very good. There was wireless available, but there was not sufficient coverage in the rooms. I found an access point in the hallway that was not connected. Cameras everywhere (this can give you a safe feeling, but also a "Big brother is watching you" feeling).
Perhaps our expectations were too high because we has stayed in some superb B&B's, still I think the hospitality is crucial to a pleasant stay.

We had origionally booked a single night so that we could visit Balmoral, but returned for our second night and were very pleased to find that there was a room available. From the initial telephone enquiries, to paying the bill, the service here was first rate. Located right in the centre of town, it was surprisingly quiet during the evening and night time, so no problem if you are a light sleeper. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms and en-suite immaculately clean and well presented. A filling breakfast was delivered with a smile, and the dining room is a lovely place to enjoy your wake up coffee. If there is anything you need, don't be afraid to ask. It's easy to see that Gordon, Jennifer and the staff make their guests comfort, their top priority. We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return in the near future.

Once again Gordon & Jennifer rolled out the red carpet and made us so welcome, what a great place to stay, with all the outdoor activities around it is a fantastic base to start from and along with a good scottish breakfast it just sets you up for the day, what more could you ask for. If you are unsure about any of the available activities just ask Gordon he is only to willing to help. If you decide to visit Ballater then make this your place to stay, I guarantee you will not regret it.
