Came across http://www.andaluzshop.co.uk/stayinandaluz.html in Castle Street Bedford UK by accident. And with a little luck as it is only open Thursday/Friday and Saturday evenings (sunday lunch). It is a cafe/deli... with soft Spanish music and Spanish feel, and a simple but fairly extensive Tapas and Ration menu. Four tapas, two glasses of lovely house red £35. Really enjoyed it. Will return but must remember Thurs/Fri/Sat only.

We (4 forty something school friends) meet once a month and try to get to different restaurants in and around Bedford. This was our first visit to Andaluz and we all found it a good experience. We had a mix of cold and hot tapas (selecting some of them in the larger portion!) most were delicious especially the chicken skewers and the pasta paella (apologies for lack of Spanish descriptions). The prawn salad was the most disappointing and we all thought needed a bit more seasoning. Only one bottle of house rose (perfectly drinkable) as most of us have to drive. We all had dessert 2 roulades and 2 orange tortes - the torte came out as favourite. It was £20 a head which we were very happy with as we did have one of everything and a bit more! Would definitely go back - may even take my husband!

We enjoyed a wide selection of tapas to accompany some good wine. All of the tapas dishes we sampled were delicious, including the specials. We thought it had a nice, cosy atmosphere and a perfect venue to catch up with friends. The Spanish waitress was very friendly and welcoming and added to its authenticity (even though the owners aren't Spanish themselves we understand they lived there for some time).

The tapas is great for those of us who don't go out solely to drink but I personally always still feel a bit hungry after my tapas budget has been maxed out.

We will return I'm sure.

It's not trying to be a formal restaurant, but if you want a light meal with plenty of atmosphere and the twist of eating genuinely authentic Spanish tapas with a good glass of wine, then this is the place for you. It's where we go for a spontaneous simple meal out rather than a take away when we are feeling lazy. £10 per head for drinks and tapas, perfectly simple. The live music evenings are great too, but don't tell too many people or we won't all fit in!

This unique little Spanish tapas bar was recommended by friends and we decided to try it Saturday night - wow it was amazing, cosy with a relaxed atmosphere and 10 mins from town centre. The waitress was cheerful friendly and assertive the food we ordered (cold platter ) followed by some specials from the board all tasted really authentic. The house red was a perfect accompaniment to the dishes - the owner was a personable chap who popped over and welcomed us to his place , the meal for both of us with wine and brandies after came to just above £45.00 , would definitely recommend this little haven of loveliness .
