“Masala Bazaar - Excellent Restaurant”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

I took some business clients to Masala Bazaar for dinner and they, like me, thought it was fantastic. One of my clients was Canadian who said it was the best Indian meal she had ever had! The rest of the group were all London based and their general opinion was that Masala Bazaar would not be out of place amongst any of the trendy Indian restaurants in the city.
One of them was of Parsi descent and was intrigued with the parsi dish on the menu, which he just had to try. He said it was excellent and reminded him of his mother's cooking.
My favourite meal is the lamb chops to start followed by the prawn patia and a side order of bindi du piaza, along with selection of breads to go with it. Fantastic! You've got to try the bread basket. The choice of drinks is good and the cocktails are superb.
Well done to all concerned with the rebirth of this excellent restaurant. Back to its former early Teza days glory. I would encourage every Indian food lover in Carlisle to go.

Our friends, who have had meals here before, strongly recommended Masala Bazaar as a very good place to sample Indian cuisene. After our own experience we too would rate the food and service excellent whilst not paying the earth.

“Just The Ticket”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

We needed a late lunch near the railway station and this was "just the "ticket".
Bright and cheerful decor. Attentive and courteous service from staff who understood the food.
Interesting and varied a menu at the right price.

“Good regional curries”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We were staying in Carlisle overnight and needed a restaurant which was tasty, not too expensive and most importantly wheelchair friendly. This one met all our criteria. It was warm and welcoming achait was quickly moved to make room for the wheelchair. The waivers didn't hover as I often find they do at Indians. The menu was. Impressive with many regional. Specialities including fiasco she's from Kerala which we have visited. We both chose a keralan fish dish which brought back many happy memories of our visit. The food did not take too long to arrive and was really tasty as well as not being too tasty - less than£25 including a drink each.
