“Carlisle stay for Hadrian's Wall walk”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Nice place in city center. We walked about 15 miles to get here. Simple bar food recommended by the bartender and a few items from a town store and we were ready for the England interior. The room was nice. We had a good nights sleep. In the am, it was a rainy day. We enjoyed breakfast she provided and then got our gear on and headed out for a rainy day of hiking. Carlisle looked like a great town, although our visit was short.

My son and I stayed for 1 night whilst walking Hadrians wall. This was very close to the trail and also the city centre, despite being on a busy junction we heard very little traffic. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, the whole property was lovely. Breakfast was very good and the service was fantastic.
Only blip was the pillows on the bed which were very soft but strangely then turned hard after you had laid on them for a bit, other than that great place to stay

Situated very centrally - lovely people. Excellent service and very very helpful - we wanted to find someone to massage our sore feet after the Hadrian Trek and ever so helpful. The rooms were very clean, in fact between three of us, we expected to get a triple room but to our pleasant surprise, were given a two bedroom flat which was fantastic. Brilliant shower - commenting on that because we really needed a hot hot shower after our trek - particularly when it had rained all day and wanted to get out of the cold.
Overall, brilliant - would definitely recommend.

Very nice well cared for guest house, lovely clean and spacious room with good size ensuite. A very warm welcome from Marjorie and staff, great breakfast, plenty choice and served in a pleasant dining room. Would happily recommend as a great place to stay. Sue and Tony Benn.

We stayed here during our Hadrian's Wall walk this summer. Our room was comfortable and clean with a good ensuite (clean with lots of room too). Breakfast was good and the packed lunch adequate. We were received very graciously - particularly as we were three hours earlier than we were meant to be. This place is very conveniently situated both from the Wall and from the city centre - a really good place to stay.

Stayed here a while back, this is our second stay and we got the same great value for money, there was a great welcome, the rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was spot on, setting us for a good day

So if you are wanting a place to stay in Carlisle I would recommend the Courtfield

We stayed at this Guest House for two nights, June 16th and 17th, 2013.
The room was very clean and well organised: lot of space for personal belongings
The bathroom was very large and impeccable. Marjorie warmly welcomes us. Laundry facilities are available at a small charge.
Breakfast is served diligently in a large dining room. The decoration of the House is
charming and harmonious. The Guest House is located at two minutes walk from the Beehive Pub ****. A short cut brings you on the Hadrian's Wall Path in five minutes. Packed
lunches were very generous and full of little treat. Near the Railway station and the City Center
