Hotel could do with a fresh coat of paint. The room was a dazzling display of florals from the late 80's BUT the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean (the carpet could have done with a good hoover). Warm welcome, good food and an excellent location. The tables in the dining room were sticky, but once we pried our cutlery free the steak was delicious! I would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Bring your slippers, no bare feet on the carpet!

Well like most i guess the frontage of the building gave the impresion of granduer , how wrong was i
i stoped in room 15 , in the 1980s extension and i must add the room was well and trully stuck in the 1980s so if you like ashes to ashes this is the place for you .
The extension is poorly built with little or no sound insulation and at 5am when the upstairs resident decided to get up so did i as creaky floor boards are just no match for sleep . and as for the next door resident well i really dont want to hear there toilet habbits ,
i hoped the up side would be a great breakfast but alas it was not to be , coffee and tea were not on tap , the up side was the staff were welcoming and helpfull but when you have a 17 hour day ahead of you sleep the night before is a big must

Room Tip: dont sleep in the 1980s extension

The hotel does need a refurbish, but they couldnt do enough for us. they allow small dogs and even supply a different room for the dogs to stay with owners for breakfast.
It would have been nice to have tableclothes on the table, i presume it may have been a pub by the furnishings just small things let them down, very reasonable and yes we would return

Has some bad reviews but we had no complaints. The room was clean and spacious, the staff were friendly, and it's not far from both the city centre and the M6. You could probably get a better hotel for the same price if you shopped around though.

We had not chosen to stay at this particular hotel it was sourced through another hotel who had double booked us. First impressions was not very pleasant and have to say we were very reluctant, having no other choice booked in eventually. rooms are very tired and are in need of updating as stated on other reviews, however I cannot stress enough how under the circumstances the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, considering they had to put up with a large party of unhappy people. If it was a choice of staying here or the Swallow Hill top I would chose here, staff at swallow absolutely terrible and some rooms at swallow not any better (providing you actually do get one). great breakfast provided at pine grove.

Room clean and very spacious. With a decent sized bathroom. Had enough room to put our luggage without tripping over it. With a beautiful staircase and stained galss window. The hotel is a little bit tired, but we found it value for money. We will stay there again if ever we visit England in the future.
