“Ok place, Rediculas price on drinks”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

I visited this restaurant today. Happy hour menu price was brilliant. Service was fine also, however £5.50 for a bottle of peroni is scandals!!!! Only mentioned £3.15, which later realised was price of small. No mention of price on menu. I would not visit this place again.

“Pleasant atmosphere-fine old building”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Called for lunch mid week whilst doing a return trip on the Settle to Carlisle Railway. Conveniently situated in the town centre, from the outside the place appeared to be ok. I liked the murals depicting scenes from Venice which reminded us of our visit there just 4 weeks previously. The background music was just right making for a relaxing atmosphere. The food was better than average and the staff were good. I was not keen on the red house-wine but we would likely call again if we return to Carlisle.

“Lovely Italian”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Just ate and early evening meal at Francos and it was lovely. Service and surroundings were very nice. The food was delicious. I had the cannelloni which was to die for and the others in my party had pasta dishes. We would definitely recommend this restaurant oh and the little pub across the way.

“fantastic”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

I have been to Francos restaurant a few times and have always thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is fantastic value and consistently good Italian food. RegularIy busy, but you never have too wait for very long for your food to arrive. i must also comment on the decor as what was described as murals are in fact beautiful oil paintings by a local artist and in my opinion add a uniqueness to the restaurant. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and yes it is dated - probably around 15th century. A wonderful example of historic Carlisle.
