“Simply the best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012

We have previously visited this restaurant for dinner and as a family voted it our favourite for miles around, therefore it was no surprise when our son and his fiance decided that it was the one and only venue that they wanted for their wedding breakfast.
Following a small, intimate and beautiful wedding at Mistley church we arrived at the Haywain to be greeted with champagne and a selection of the nicest canapes I have ever eaten. This was the prelude to an amazing meal which consisted of course after course of food that was both sourced and cooked to Michelin star standards, and of superb wines so reasonably priced it makes you wonder why other establishments cannot reach these standards. Thank you so much to Craig and Amy for a wonderful day and a big x for Chloe who was such a star. I have previously recommended this restaurant to all my friends and cannot wait to revist with some of them.

“Superb as Usual!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2011

This is the second time we have visited the intimate restaurant in East Bergholt. With so many places to choose from in our area, this stands out from the very competitive crowd. Offering a superb high quality menu and intimate dining experience. Highly , highly, highly recommended!!! Look forward to returning in the New Year. Hesitant in writing this review as I don't want to wait months for a reservation!

“The best dining experience EVER!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2011

I visited on my fiance's birthday, which the owner kindly made into the November 'taster menu' evening. What followed was simply the most complete and perfect evening known to any of us. The food was stunning, the friendly laid back atmosphere was perfect, and the restaurant itself was great. The whole evening felt like we were at a dinner party without having to make any effort at all. We had a 5 course meal, beers, 7 bottles of grape juice (of which 3 were decent bottles of champagne), and port - and all for under £450 for 6 people. The food was unbelievable, and the cheese board simply took my breath away.
My step-father commented that pound-for-pound, it knocked spots of Claridges. Praise indeed!
