Very peaceful and lovely scenery to walk round and view, it has a shop and cafe to order cake drinks and ice cream which are nice to look forward to after your walk, lots to do often had a Easter egg hunt when I used to go which is fun for kids and often have a Christmas market to go to.

“A "children's" provincial museum - but it is about to be refurbished”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

This is in the largest Norman castle in Europe - bigger even than the Tower of London. It is built on the site of a Roman temple to Claudius which was besieged by Boedica. Yet the exhibits are laughable and boring and there is no sense of the building's extraordinary history.
The museum will be closed in 2013 for repairs and a total refurbishment and rethink of the museum exhibits. I just hope they get it right this time.
