“Fantastic fish'n'chips!!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

My boyfriend and i came across this place whilst shopping in colchester. I must admit the weather was sleet/snow and bitterly cold and we were both 'ummin and arring' about going straight home OR having lunch out. Fortunately the latter won and we went into the Frying Castle. First impression was how spotlessly clean it was, and then how warmly we were greeted by the owner. We sat down and ordered our meals cod chips mushy peas for me, rock and chips for himself, two crusty rolls and three teas to wash it down. The service was impeccable, the food was SO tasty, and to be fair the tea was the best i'd had!! Total price was £20 - worth EVERY penny! We weren't rushed in any way, only made to feel very welcome. Oh yes, and lastly, we didn't leave there smelling of cooking - always a bonus!!
When in colchester give it a try - you won't be sorry!! Can't wait til the next shopping trip.............
