Went to see one of the six nations games, admittedly not England, as advertised would be shown. We had to ask twice for it to be switched over from the end of the previous football match which had long finished and we missed half of the first half. The bar staff were rude and we shouldn't have had to keep asking.

Deciding to grab some food before a drinking session, we order a sharing platter of starters and some spicy chicken wings, which were quite simply delicious, we could easily have ordered another round of both of these.

The mains consisted burgers and a rib eye steak, all cooked well and very filling, with the prices being very reasonable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food at this place, it is good pub grub and I will definitely eat here again.

After spending the past two weeks on a course and living on hotel food and takeaways, I had pretty well given up all hope of find a good meal at a reasonable price. Well my search has come to an end.

The Norfolk Public House in Colchester is a real
gem. From the moment you step through the door, it just somehow feels welcoming. From the friendly staff who all seem to go the extra mile to satisfy your requirements to a menu that totally deceives.

At first glance, you could be looking at any tired old menu. However make your choice from the menu or specials board and the surprises start coming. As part of a group of 4 who all ordered different meals, we were stunned by the standard of the food. First of all cooked well, very tasty and lots of it. The prices are all spot on. The meal was followed by a genuine question of " Is everything ok". It was very, very good.

These kind of places are few and far between these days. So if you are looking for a friendly atmosphere and real genuine service with cracking food. Try The Norfolk. You will not be disapointed.

Quick meal to line me up for a few beers. The choice of beer for a Greene King pub was not great, so had the suffolk cider.
