Based in Colchester, Essex, Go Bananas have everything you need to entertain the young and old alike. Fun the weather cannot spoil! The Aztec Adventure area is an extensive 3 storey climbing frame for the over 5s. Here children can have an amazing adventure exploring the home of our mascot George Funky Monkey. The Wall is a 6 meter cliff face at the edge of the Aztec Adventure area which leads to Funky Monkey’s alarm. Can you sound the alarm and wake the Aztec Adventure’s funkiest resident?!?! As well as providing a safe and fun environment for children to play, we are also the ideal venue for parties. Situated off Cowdery Avenue in Colchester, if you dont get out before 5:00pm then you may find yourself stuck in traffic.

As you first go in the entrance, the tired looking decor becomes apparent, themed on the Jungle, there are plenty of paintings and murals to get you in the mood for some playing fun. You enter the seating area first via a secure gate after paying at reception.

Once in the seating area you find a spot to make your base and take off your shoes. There is a bar area that serves food, burgers, pizza, jackets etc, nothing special, but you can just about purchase something that is reasonably healthy.

There are 2 play areas, 1 for the younger age group of 5 and under and the other much bigger area for those over the age of 5. My son is aged 2, so to the sectioned off area we go. There we find a sponsored area laden with a few slightly old and mostly broken toys, but hey my son is 2, if the wheels go round he is happy.

There is a small bouncy castle, play kitchen and dinning area, music room, ball pool, slides, soft play area and various bikes and cars that can zoom around the whole area. There is plenty for the young of heart to climb up, slide down, ride about and dance around to.

The larger area is to the side of the smaller area and is for older children. Having only seen it from a distance I cant really tell exactly what it's like, but it looks like it should be great fun. There are plenty of places to climb of which most lead to a very big and long slide.

In terms of the facilities, the play areas are good, although are beginning to show signs of ware and tear, and could really do with a good clean. The toilet and changing areas are of a similar standard, needing a good lick of paint and some more regular cleaning.

Overall Go Bananas is a great place to bring your children in terms of what there is there for them to do, but if your looking for a bright and spotless place in which to watch your children have fun, then maybe look at some alternatives 1st.

I took my stepson (8) and daughter (9 months). They loved it but in my view all the equipment - particularly in the little one's play area - was old and in need of a revamp. Didn't feel very clean at all either. Won't be returning.

Go Bananas has a large good play frame for children aged 4 + to play on. It can keep children happy for hours and adults can go on to. Theres also a tiny tots area for younger ones, which also is good and will keep little ones happy for ages, theres plenty for them to do. Also there is a climbing wall, I'm pretty sure theres a extra charge for this and its for older children. What lets Go Bananas down is its dirty, old looking and food choice/ quality is awful. My son went to a birthday party there recently and food served up looked cheap and nasty, not a vegatable or piece or fruit in sight.
