We stayed for two nights with two young children. The heating in room 3 could not be changed so we suffered for two nights. Rooms where nice and clean and staff pleasant but did little to help the situation. Be aware that the children's menu meal deal only comes with certain drinks. We were not told and so incurred an extra charge. Which I was not to pleased about. The guarantee was not up held. But on saying this we wasn't told about it until completion of survey. On a positive note this experience hasn't put me of staying at other premier Inns as they are always very clean.

Stayed at this hotel Friday night and saturday night and have to say it was one of the best we have stayed in. Literally the staff couldn't do enough for you. Room extra warm even with the window open. Extra towels as soon as we asked for them. Had breakfast both mornings and the breakfast staff were just as accomadating, trying hard to please. Too much choice for breakfast so easy to eat too much, everything cooked just as you want it, and vegetarian sausages too !!! Quick check in and out, no nonsense. Breakfast was in the ajoining Beefeater, so entrance from hotel. Rooms very spacious and bathroom well appointed with shower wash etc. Lovely Tv in each room that had subtitles for me, great, better than big name hotels plus FREE 30 mins wifi too. Sainsbury's short walk away with free cash machine, also fish and chip shop and petrol station over the road

Room Tip: We stayed in 31 and 24 and no complaints

We stayed for 1 night in a family room. The receptionist and other staff we met were all very friendly and helpful. The room was great, clean and well laid out. A lovely big tv on the wall and the bathroom was like new. Would stay here again although breakfast was not as good, this was in the restaurant next door so haven't graded the hotel down on this as the hotel was great!

We booked two double rooms for one night as a stopover for the night.

We turned up around 7pm to check in, space within the car park was rather limited but we managed to find somewhere. We then checked in very swiftly and went to view our rooms.

The same as an other premier inn - you know what to expect. It was clean, comfy and well decorated. It is rather basic but there is everything you could need. They had even left a fan available in the room which was needed for a warm night. We visited the Beefeater restaurant that was attached to the hotel for dinner which was tasty, brilliant value and good service. We also visited here for the premium breakfast service which was again great value, tasty and plenty of selection. Check out was also very swift which was great for just getting onto the road.

The location was easy to find only being about 10mins from A1, it is on a main road with a petrol station across the road and a sainsburys local store next to the hotel for any extras you may want.

All in all i would recommend this as a stop off location or anyone looking for a break for the odd night, not somewhere i would suggest a full holiday break due to proximity to the road and not much happening nearby.

I am pleased to say nothing has changed at this hotel, we have stayed here on several occasions, and each time we have not been disappointed, we will be staying here again and again. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms are just as good as each other, we have tried a few now.

I have stayed in many P.I's from Newcastle down to Newquay, & Stafford across to Peterborough, but this one definitely rates in my top 3 favourites.
Twelve of us were staying here for a National Angling Championship being held a few miles away.
I'd stayed here a few weeks previously & knew my pals wouldn't be disappointed.
Because we had a great deal of baggage I had asked for ground floor rooms. No problem, we were give the first 6 twins. The rooms were spotless and comfortable.
Because we were leaving the next morning before the official Sat. breakfast time I asked if we could have an earlier one (for a small consideration to the chef & waiter) No problem. The full works in terms of the restaurants Premier Breakfast was waiting for us at 6.00 am.
The adjacent Beefeater Restaurant the night before didn't disappoint either. The food was good across the board, service swift, with the waitresses friendly, outgoing and good humoured.
All in all a pleasant time, thanks to Tracey, Liz & the team in the hotel, and Janet J & the team in the restaurant.
