What a find this place is. We have been on several occasions now and are never disappointed....just the opposite actually. Two fabulous steaks with all the trimmings cooked to our liking for £10.....with friendly young staff and great service...unbelievable.

We stopped here on the way from a holiday in London for an evening meal. The pub looked like a nice place to stop and eat and we were expecting a lovely meal together (me and my friend). Wrong. We arrived and the place is just poorly under-staffed. We were not greeted in, and didn't know the how-dos of the resteraunt (do we seat ourselves, be seated by a waitress, order at the bar?). So we proceeded to sit ourselves down and read the menu. The menu has a range of foods and they all sounded delicious! We were sat for a good 10 minutes before a young waitress took our food and drink order, a little long considering the pub wasn't too busy. It was then a good 30-40 minute wait for a mere lasagne dish and meat pie! We also had to ask for our drinks as they'd not arrived after a ridiculous wait. The food was average, the lasagne was obviously a microwave ping-meal though, with half of it burnt to the dish! After a dissapointing start, we weren't sure whether to risk ordering a dessert, but the sundaes on the menu sounded too good to resist. We both got a chocolate sundae which suprisingly came to us very quick and was a delight! The best part of the evening I'd say, which in a sense is a little sad.
Before leaving, we went to the young waitress to pay our bill and we could see into the kitchen area through the waitress doors, which was a terrible mess, food on the floor and the cooks swearing. I must say we were glad to be going home and won't be eating there again unfortunately.

A really nice meal with friendly attentive staff, in clean comfortable surroundings.
Real Ale too.
The only downside is that, given its location, somebody will have to drive.
