I am very sorry to hear the way that you were treated when the Antiques Roadshow held their event at Wentworth Woodhouse last Thursday! although the BBC have said it was probably the most successful roadshow they had held, it still does not warrant not being able to just see what was happening and be part of the crowd. As to the length of the queue's members of the public were starting to queue at 7am and the gates did not open till 9.30, but after around 4pm they did close the queue's and the BBC team then saw everyone in the queue. On a more positive note, I wish you had contacted us directly before posting your comments? as I'm sure we could have sorted something out!

“BEAUTIFUL”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Took my mum on the £25 visit for her birthday, we went 5th September and Bob was our guide, firstly he was fantastic - he used to work at Wentworth Woodhouse in it's hey day and you could tell he was so proud of the house and the renovations taking place.
The house is actually in much better condition than I thought it was going to be and it really was fantastic.
Anyone interested in local history must go.
It's lovely how the businesses in Wentworth are generating trade for each other, we ate at Le Bistro first and we weren't the only ones doing the tour who also ate there.
I wouldn't recommend this tour for anyone with mobilty issues as you are on your feet and walking for almost 3 hours.
Very reasonably priced tea/coffe and buns from the tea room afterwards.

What a fabulous place . It should be open all the time. It will bring prosperity to the area. The potential is enormous.

“Brought to life”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

What a fantastic tour! We visited yesterday - I've always wanted to see this place from the inside and it didn't disappoint one little bit

The house itself is in three in one. The front that we see is the newest part with the oldest nestled deep in the centre with the unseen baroque style front at the back. We went on the full tour paying £25 for the full works - it was truly amazing to see the back that has always been private - infact its better than the front!

Our guide must have only been in his mid to late 20s, but I was so impressed by his wealth of knowledge about the place, the area and the Wentworth's - He really brought the house to life and I could have imaged being a fly on the wall during the houses hey day

I cant wait to see it get finished and put sunny rotherham back on the map.

Thanks for a great afternoon - i hope to make it to future events and the antiques roadshow on thursday.

If you haven't already been in the house get yerself booked in!

“The Best Country House Tour”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

What a place, the tour took two and a half hours and we only so a fraction of it. The front of the house hides a 17th century country house behind it. One tour is not enough a dozen is more like. We intend to go to the BBC's Antiques Road Show to be held there on the 19th of Sept 2013.
