I hadn't visited this park for a few years and was surorised when I saw the play areas. There is an area for babies and young children, with baby swings, small see-saws and mini roundabouts. There are also things on which to climb and various other play items. A few yards away from this is a play area for slightly older or bigger children, comprising swings, slides, roundabouts and larger climbing frames and a sand area with diggers and buckets etc. There is also another area near to this one which fulfils the needs of older children. This area is probably suitable for children aged 8 years and older and has an enormous slide (enclosed) an array of climbing equipment and swings etc. There is also an area with motorised rides, for which there is a small fee, and a crazy golf area. Moving away from this area there is a skate/bmx park and a water play area. The park also houses a museum (free) and bowling greens and tennis courts. There is also open grassy areas and a memorial garden with flowers and a cenotaph. There is something to please everyone in this park and would go so far as to say it has probably the best childrens' play are in any public park in the country.
