“Fantastic play area”

I hadn't visited this park for a few years and was surorised when I saw the play areas. There is an area for babies and young children, with baby swings, small see-saws and mini roundabouts. There are also things on which to climb and various other play items. A few yards away from this is a play area for slightly older or bigger children, comprising swings, slides, roundabouts and larger climbing frames and a sand area with diggers and buckets etc. There is also another area near to this one which fulfils the needs of older children. This area is probably suitable for children aged 8 years and older and has an enormous slide (enclosed) an array of climbing equipment and swings etc. There is also an area with motorised rides, for which there is a small fee, and a crazy golf area. Moving away from this area there is a skate/bmx park and a water play area. The park also houses a museum (free) and bowling greens and tennis courts. There is also open grassy areas and a memorial garden with flowers and a cenotaph. There is something to please everyone in this park and would go so far as to say it has probably the best childrens' play are in any public park in the country.

The park has been updated recently and is now fantastic, not the tired old park it used to be with a paddling pool, crazy golf, etc. The coffee shop is good as well, and it is always nice to watch the kiddies at play

Clifton park is great for kids. The is lots to play on. Separate areas for younger and older children and in the summer you can play in the water area (although it gets very busy!!)
Loads of room to play football or rounds.
In summer they have events which are very popular.

This is brilliant. The park is free and there's lots of adventure playground areas for all ages - sand pit, slides, etc. In the summer the water area is great for paddling and the mini fair is good too. Worth Viking but take a picnic if you can as there's no cafe, just a burger van.

Clifton Park is easy to find being close to the town centre and has onsite parking. Many paths to walk with gardens and features to stop and admire. The photo shows the war memorial and formal gardens. The children's activity areas are good and there is a small 'fairground' open at at various times in the spring, summer and autumn. During the summer there is a water play area with paddling pools and water sprays. The museum in the park grounds is free and very interesting with lots of local information.
