Had a small family and friends birthday celebrtaion at Il Bacio last night (1st Feb). Not been for about 2yrs and previous to then, had visitted on several occasions and always had a lovely meal and evening. Looking at recent reviews, it seemed there had been some changes made in ownership and subsequently some very mixed results but we had a fantastic night. The food (we pre-ordered starters and main courses) was a varied selection of the menu and came fresh and piping hot. We were upstairs (with another large party downstairs) but the service from the waitresses was exceptional with drinks and food served efficiently and without fuss. Pricers were perfectly acceptable, at about £25 per head for food and the house wine went down a treat at £12 a litre bottle!! Overall, a cracking night with good food, nice authentic atmosphere and very pleasant service throughout. Dont be put off by the drab exterior and entrance passage. Once you're in, you wont be dissapointed.

Recently had a meal at il bacio (January 2013) and was superb.
All freshly cooked and prepared food from the starter to the cheese board.
Would recommend to anyone.

I have been to II Bacio on five separate occasions this year and all have been to an excellent standard. The atmosphere is that of a genuine Italian family restaurant, you can see the food expertly made and prepared as the kitchen is open and in full view. The steaks are expertly cooked and would highly recommend their fillet rossini its to die for one of the best I have ever tasted. Their is a mixture of lively music of various types. And at the end of the night or if requested the head proprietor engages you in a dramatic display of his guitaral skills. Excellent all round with its pleasant warm atmosphere and staff which are all too eager to help.

Ate there last night - 10 people across three generations. We sat at a table upstairs. Service was helpful and friendly, and we enjoyed our meal - the steaks in particular were good quality and well cooked. Lovely bruschetta to start with. The piped music was an eclectic mix of Christmas songs and 80s classics, and a little loud at times, but otherwise nothing to criticise.

We've eaten here before - and we'll eat here again. Definitely worth a try.
