“Couldn't Fault It.”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

We stayed here following a recommendation from friends who have been coming year in year out since their children were tots.

We have stayed on a lot of sites - Haven, Park Resorts etc, and this was the best by far. Really good value for money and great staff.

When we arrived the reception staff were really helpful and let us in early as the caravan was ready when we arrived. The caravan was a Gold grade and exceeded our expectations -3 beds, light and airy and spotlessly clean with well equipped kitchen. Nice and close to the facilities.

There's a small but well-stocked shop with all the basics and it is really good value. The Clubhouse was great and there was plenty to keep the kids amused - especially Richie THe Rabbit who the kids loved. Beer and food very reasonably priced and we ate there a few times - basic but good stuff. We didn't stay late for the main acts but our friends said they were excellent.

All in all we had a really good stay, and the staff really made you feel welcome and like they were pleased to see you.

Couldn't fault it.

Stayed here Mon-Fri, the caravan was spotless and could not fault it at all. The caravan was right near the reception, it was handy for the shop and the laundette, also the park and the other amenities. We didn't use the on site clubhouse as it isn't really our thing, but we did hear people coming back at night who were really noisy and kids shouting etc. We used the swimming pool its just a basic pool which isn't really any good for kids, my daughter also came home with a bad ear infection which the doc said it more then likely come from swimming. The gas bottle ran out on the caravan within hours of us getting there, this should of been checked really before we was given the caravan but cannot moan as it was replaced in less than an hour.
Overall it an ideal place to use as a base but wouldn't stay here if there wasn't other things to do in the area.

Room Tip: Chose a Gold Caravan

Super site for a family. Enjoyed using the pool and the kids loved children's disco. Good clean site and caravan was okay. The bedding smelled foisty though and we couldn't get the gas fire to work. Spacious lounge. We had a bronze plus caravan as we did not intend to spend a lot of time in it. Safe site for children, with decent facilities . Would go back but might take own bedding.

We wanted a break away from our towns lowlife scumbags and thier offspring and picked Richmond holiday centre. nothing wrong with the site or staff, but in the clubhouse in the evenings it was full of lowlife scumbags and thier children who wrecked our holiday as th children were all over the room and dancefloor, litter and spilt drinks prams, puschairs, paper napies etc and the language from adults and children was unacceptable, A caravan owner told us it is always like it all season thats why most van owners do not use the clubhouse, as they can see some of the acts in the local clubs in comfort and the drinks are a lot cheaper, and no lowlife. we were advised to not buy avan on this site as more and more to let company vans are being put on all the time. the scumbags were still noisy at 2am

Wonderful family holiday

We were allowed on site at 2pm, two hours early which was very nice of them. Checking in was painless and quick.
The caravan was a bronze plus with two twins and a double room.
The instructions and map made it easy to fine. The caravan was clean and tidy, they was a slight smell of Cigarettes in the room but not over powering, and i didn't notices it again during our stay.
The cupboards were full of the usefully kitchen equipment, all we needed is food, washing up Lq, sponge and t-towels ( you will need bathroom paper).
We were given bedding to put on, our sheets smelt like they hadn't be totally dry when they packed them for our use, a small mishap on their part, I'm sure if I had complained they would have given me more sheets. However I didn't really have the time to strip and remake the beds.

We found the fire to be a little hit and miss lighting, which we reported.
The showers aren't the best as it struggles to keep a good flow and a set temp, and stops all together if someone touches the taps or toilet during your shower ( why do boys/men find doing this funny?) I guess it quiet normal to have a low flow hit and miss shower in a caravan.

The site is kept clean and tidy. The on site shop is fully stocked with all your basic needs. We found the park on site to be well kept and the children seem to love it.
The bar staff were friendly and bar was large with plenty of setting. The do serve food there and have a range of food to please most people, nothing overly interesting: just pub grub. The do have some good money saving deals on (two for £10, £18.00 for a family meal). We didn't try them as we had already got our food but they looked good value for money.

The swimming pool is an ok size, simple and well kept, they has a hoist for wheelchair users. You can pay extra if you want to use the steam room and jacuzzi. The changing rooms are small and clean. You'll need £1 for your locker, don't forget your locker number or you'll freeze trying to find.

We went to the children's disco and allowed the youngest to show his moves, he fully enjoyed it. He was a little scared of the big fluffy bunny that comes to say hello, other children loved it and the bunny was happy have his photo snapped.

The location is perfect, you close to the beach, centre and nature reserve all with 5-10min drive, put not pack in with all the other static sites. They is also a 24hour tesco in walking distance

We have just returned from a 4 night Easter break booked through Hoseasons and thought this park was brilliant value for money. We paid £145 for a 2 bedroomed bronze caravan and to be honest for that price I wasn't expecting much as we just wanted a cheap break. I needn't have worried though because the caravan (number 32) smelt lovely and fresh when we first arrived and was very clean, the oven and grill looked brand new and not a cob web, mud/sand, spot of mould/mildew or hair to be found so top marks to the cleaners!
My only gripes were feeling the cold during the night which was uncomfortable even with two duvets and the heating on but the freaky cold weather snap we have all had it was to be expected I suppose. We found the hot water pressure quite low in the caravan which made having a shower like standing under a dribbling tap rather than a powerful blast and even the hot water taps were slow flowing too.
The clubhouse was reasonably priced for drinks and had the usual entertainment: kids disco/games first, then bingo, followed by a singer/group etc. The chipshop had the tastiest fish and chips which were reasonably priced. The swimming pool was a bit cold at first but once you were in it was fine, could really do with a little slide or two though. There is also a launderette, mini supermarket and gym on site but we didn't use any of them.
The park is literally down the road only a very short walk away 5 minutes max from the bus, coach and train stations with Tesco, Lidl, Morrisons, Iceland and the town centre of Skegness on the doorstep which is great if you don't have use of a car. We got a £10 daysaver for the bus for 2 adults 2 children to travel to Fantasy Island one day which the kids really enjoyed. We really enjoy Skegness as it has something for everyone, it was just a shame it was so cold! I would definitely return to Richmond Park though; we have been to both Butlins and Coastfields parks in the area and found Richmond to be the cleanest and better value out of all of them.

On arrival the staff were really nice, they allowed us to book in early and gave us two sets of keys to our caravan so that our 17yr old son could go off on his own. The facilities are amazing with a well stocked shop on site, launderette and amazing club house where the prices are really cheap and not the earth like some club houses we have been to in the past. The caravan was spotlessly clean and really comfy. Nice big lounge area and lovely comfy beds with plenty of bedding for those chill nights. Will most definatley be returning.
