My wife and I visited this restaurant only to find no atmosphere, carpets in need of either replacing or a very good clean. Ordered bottle of wine, only for this to be basically slung into our glasses with no pre taste. Food was of a very poor standard, cutlery and plates filthy, needed to be wiped prior to eating, staff hospitality did not exist, after complaining no apologies given, toilets of very poor cleanliness. Would not recommend this restaurant.

“Don't eat here if you really want to taste authentic Indian Food”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Over priced and over rated ! 2 drinks were £7 !!!! The staff were very concerned when we insisted on keeping our dips and pickles after finishing our poppadom s ! Methinks the contents of the bowls would have ended up in someone else's !!! Special Lamb dish consisted of sliced lamb ( not cubed so probably not fresh) in a mediocre sauce with absolutely no taste. Chicken Korma .???? Probably a packet sauce mix !!! Needless to say did not leave a tip and if we ever do return to Skegness, we will not be eating here !!!! You have been WARNED

“Terrible Food, Bad Value”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

My partner and I visited the Agra in July 2013 for a bit of nostalgia - I used to eat there regularly on family holidays some time ago.

Unfortunately the standard of the place has gone downhill rapidly since then. We ordered, poppadoms, starters and a main , and sadly none of it was good.

The poppadoms were stale, the meat in the mixed kebab was chewy and tasteless (the less said about the chicken chat puri the better!) and the mains suffered from the same meat problems.

To top it off there was a large group of very drunk visitors from Nottingham in there who were very rowdy. I can appreciate they were just having a laugh, but with beer goggles comes a lack of volume control and the staff did nothing whatsoever to quiten them down.

A great shame really as this used to be a really nice restaurant.

“Food only the good thing”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Was in Skegness for few hours and felt like having a curry and found this place online and thought would give it a try. Walked in and was greeted by member of staff behind the bar. We got shown to a table by a British girl who wasn't that friendly, there was no smile or welcoming feeling from her. The restaurant wasn't too busy probably about half full.

We tried to order drinks to which we got ignored then few mins later she came over after getting her attention. She took our drinks order and after about 5+ mins we got the attention of another member of staff to see where our drinks were. They were slightly flat and warm but still drinkable. We ordered our food and had a bit of a wait, when the food came out they had it on a trolley which blocked the path way and some people had to move in so they could get it through.

I had the onion bhaji, chicken tikka masala with pilau rice and keehma nan. There was no mint sauce with the onion bhaji which I was expecting as other indian restaurants have been have had miny sauce come with the onion bhaji. The onion bhaji tasted nice though. The chicken tikka masala tasted nice but could have done with more chicken. The nan breads we had were good too.

We noticed that other people had problems with being ignored and having flat drinks served to them. I might go again however the service is off putting. The decor and the atmosphere wasn't the best. I would only recommend this restaurant for the food which is the only reason I have given it an "average" rating. None of the staff seemed to be polite or have a friendly feeling.

I would recommend this place only on the basis of a nearly last resort if your hungry and can't get an indian from somewhere else.
