We have visited Natureland before with the grandchildren, but this time we were on our own and had our dog with us. I remembered that it was a dog friendly attraction and so we decided to go again. I was not quite sure what our dog would make of it, but I had no need to worry as she was absolutely besotted with the seals!
We were able to watch the baby seals being fed and listen to the keeper telling us all about them. There is lots to see even with the dog. The only place she could not go was the indoor part with the butterflies.
I think it was well worth he money.

We welcome well behaved dogs on leads here at Natureland. The butterfly and bird house, restaurant and gift shop are the only places they are not allowed into. Most dogs are fascinated by the seals going past the viewing windows in the seal pool - they also like looking at the meerkats! Hope to see you all again soon.

Thanks for your review,. The reduced winter rates reflect the fact that your stay MAY be shorter than in the summer when for example the tropical butterfly exhibit, gift shop and full catering facilities are open. The average summer visit time is 2 hours plus.
Hope to see you again soon.

Just been to visit whilst away for weekend. Does look alittle tired in places but maybe didnt help that it was jan when we went! Staff are brilliant and do a really wonderful job caring for the animals. We got there just a feeding time which was a bonus. As there wasnt many people there it gave us chance to really take our time walking round and watching the animals. Reduced entrence fee as not in season. Spent 2hours there and recommend to anyone. What ever the age.

Went to Natureland Seal Sanctuary today and although it was delightful to see cute harbour seals and pups I truly couldn't believe the lack of enrichment for these animals....just a swimming pool with a concrete hump in the middle with a water cooler bottle sunk on the bottom of the pool and both pools for pups and adults were rather shallow considering they're seals! Rather saddened by this. We're all animal lovers and most of us support conservation efforts so how about giving them more enrichment and maybe something more exciting than just a shallow swimming pool? Add something to recreate their natural environment!

Thank you for visiting Natureland and for taking the time to write a review. To respond to your concerns - the seals are kept in a 35,000 gallon pool of filtered seawater which is constantly pumped into the pool. The seals receive enrichment five times a day in the form of feeding times with their keepers, as well as additional enrichment (perforated plastic water bottles with fish inside, balls, buoys on ropes etc.). Some of our breeding group have lived to 44 years of age, which is a tremendous age for harbour seals. They have given birth to over forty babies in this pool (which have been released to the wild) which we believe shows that our seals live a very contented life. We are regularly inspected by top vets for our licence to operate, and by the RSPCA who are very happy with the condition that we keep ALL of our animals.
I hope this eases your concerns and hopefully we will see you again soon.
