“cosy and full of character...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Popped in here mid week with friends and I was really impressed. Its a great place to relax and chat over a meal. It was pretty busy (always a good sign) so we ate early and had 2 tasty pizzas and a bottle of wine for just over £20 (I think this is only till 7pm). It's now my new favourite stamford eaterie!..will be back soon.

“Inventive food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

Inventive, but not bonkers or pretentious. Friendly staff. Pleasant back yard, if the weather's fine. Characterful inside if not.

“Lovely old pub with quirky character”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful old building and great atmosphere. Only gripe was that the cassoulet ordered was really too spicy - it wouldnt normally be spiced with chilli, would it? Pointed this out to the waitress who was very helpful. If dishes are laced with chilli flavouring please indicate this on menu so that customers are forewarned! Thanks!

“honey and bacon balls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

ancient and charming pub. High quality beer, we tried 4 different ale. Good food, we tried honey and bacon breadballs, spicy indian burger and strowberry cheescake. Kind staff. I would like the same ladies toilet with fireplace as bathroom in my home!

“Favorite Stamford Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is my favorite food pub in Stamford. The pizza is perfectly crispy and the other menu items are also perfect. This goes above and beyond most pub food. The building has so much character and flair. There is also outdoor seating for those nice (and rare) sunny days.
