“A great Valentine's night”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

The Blue Ball Inn is situated in a beautiful picturesque area of the Quantock hills, after a long walk or hike you will find this inn hid away in a little valley in a narrow lane. We spent Valentine's night there and it was just perfect. Great food, great staff and reasonably priced. Full of old charm and character we will return again in the summer to sit in the Garden and listen to the steam Train passing in the distance. One of those places you wished no one knew about apart from you!

“Country Haven”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

We were a party of 6, all discerning diners looking forward to a nice hot meal on a foul February night. We were not disappointed.
Right from the start we were difficult in that we talked instead of ordering. No problem the staff humoured us and eventually we got our act together. The starters were all of a good size and very tasty. Of particular note was the terrine of Bath chaps with piccalily; not fatty at all and with the seasoning just right.
Main courses did not disappoint. The lamb shank with leek pudding was inspired although it could have had a fraction more gravy. Two had steaks which were exactly as ordered with nicely cooked chips.
Finally the puds delighted those who had them whilst those who had the cheese thought the choice was comprehensive.
We were seated in a great table that felt almost shut off in another room and we suffered none of the diners pressing in on us feeling. Overall a great dining experience.

“My favourite pub!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

The prettiest pub and the best beer garden ever!
Great food, good atmosphere, perfect location. Staff are always friendly, beer is always good and anyone that does not like this place must be fools!
The sort of pub you go out your way to visit!

“I can hardly believe the last review!”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times over a number of years and have yet to be disappointed. I'm pretty hard to please and can truthfully say that I've ALWAYS enjoyed myself when treated to a lunch or dinner at the Blue Ball. Sadly these have not been as often as I would like as I moved from the Triscombe area quite a while ago now but look forward to my next visit.
