We stayed at Yallands for two nights and I cannot rate it highly enough. Perfect hosts, so lovely and welcoming. Delicious breakfasts and comfortable, clean rooms. Would definitely stay here again - ten out of ten. Thank you Karen & Chris!

Back once again from yet another fantastic stay at Yallands Farmhouse, missing it already, Karen and Chris never fail to treat everyone with warmth and kindness, nothing is too much trouble, the room was lovely and cool and spotlessly clean as usual, the food was the same high standard that we have become accustomed to there, it never changes, had a very tasty barbecue on Tuesday evening, with all our family and it was our pleasure to meet Karen's Mum, Norma, and celebrate her birthday at the barbecue, thank you Karen and Chris for making our stay so great once again, can't wait for New Year, see you all then.

Room Tip: all rooms are of a very high standard

We were initially worried as a newly married couple to be driving into a very modern housing estate. However within this not-so-attractive area is an absolute hidden gem of a bnb with a completely hospitable loving couple to welcome us. The house had a rustic country farm style with lovely gardens and we sat outside chatting with the family into the night as if we had known them for years. Breakfast was delicious and the beds very comfy. We would definitely recommend to any friends and family.

We were met by Karen and Chris who were perfect hosts, our room was the superior family room which was superior. I tried out the jacuzzi bath which was heavenly. Breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The old farmhouse is in the middle of a private housing estate that was built in the eighties but the estate is lovely and quiet. Can't fault our stay at all.

Stayed here for one night while exhibiting my artwork at Somerset College. Booked the family room as there were going to be 3 of us staying. Spacious room, kingsize bed and a single and easily room for another bed. Jacuzzi bath in a lovely snug bathroom. Tasty biscuits with a good selection of teas and coffees. Was made a sandwich when I arrived. Really big narnia wardrobe big enough for my 50's rock n roll dress. Really impressed with Karen and Chris. Will definitely be back with the teenagers, my 16 yr old will love the huge breakfast.

Yallands Farmhouse is the perfect location for exploring the south of England. We spent a week there. Although the farmhouse itself is a very comfortable and quiet accommodation with modern amenities, what makes Yallands extra special are the hosts, Karen and Chris. They absolutely could not do enough for us to meet ever conceivable need and were consistently friendly and cheerful (even when I failed to close the shower curtain properly and very embarrassingly caused a leak onto the floor below). Chris gave us directions for our trips and printed out travel information. Karen or Chris called a taxi for us every time we needed one. When our taxi didn't arrive on time one day, he even drove us to the train station. Truly above and beyond the call of duty. Both Karen and Chris did a first-rate job of both preparing and serving breakfasts and our pre-arranged evening meal. In fact, I would say they are the hardest working proprietors I have ever met. Very hands-on. You can't go wrong with booking a room at Yallands

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Owners Chris & Karen Ward look forward to welcoming you to Yallands Farmhouse - our delightful Grade II Listed building dating back over 400 years, which sat amidst acres of green fields for several centuries. The expansion of Taunton during the 1970's led to new housing being built on the former farmland. The farmhouse, with its secluded garden, small orchard, and stone barn was left intact. As a result, Yallands has become an unexpected 'oasis' of peace and tranquility within a modern corner of Somerset's county town. Yallands offers self-assessed 4 star accommodation in Taunton, Somerset. The house is situated 1 1/2 miles from Taunton town centre, on the north-western edge of the town, and is easily reached from the M5 motorway - junction 25 (4 miles), and junction 26 (6 miles). For those who are reliant on public transport a local bus, with a stop at the foot of the garden, provides a frequent daytime service to and from the town centre. The lovely town centre provides excellent shopping and county cricket, horse racing, golf, theatre and other leisure facilities are all available nearby. Taunton has a good selection of restaurants and wine bars to suit most tastes and the surrounding countryside offers many delightful pubs which serve excellent food. There is ample car parking space in the private grounds together with lockable cycle storage in the stables. Why not enjoy relaxing in our gardens in the summer or sitting in front of our open fire in those cold winter months? Yallands is open all year round and - whether you are a tourist or a business visitor - you can be assured of a warm welcome and our individual attention.Yallands is particularly convenient for Taunton School, The Somerset Heritage Centre & Nuffield Hospital. ... more   less
